You know damn well that the only reason the unemployment rate is so low is the sham that is zero hour contracts. If someone was offered 3 hours work a week they would not be classed as 'unemployed'

    General Election

This is the crux of the argument. There needs to be a desire to implement such a change, which is non existent in the Conservative Party.

How about we weigh the cuts in CT against the levels of child poverty in one of the most developed countries in the 21st Century?? It would just be easier and clearer all round if the Tories came out and said they don't give a fuck. Let them eat cake and all that.....

I detest that woman... never seen her speak a single balanced sentence in her life.

As much as I disliked the outcome of the vote - to go against it now would be unthinkable. This is a big factor why Labour appears to have such division.

    General Election

No one is saying not to respect the result (apart from the Lib Dems who are irrelevant) - however you can't disagree that the 'Leave' campaign was based on a bunch of lies '350m for the NHS a week as an example' and using the notion that immigrants are to blame for the woes of this country is...

    General Election

There's a sense of irony in the Tory papers saying that the Labour manifesto will take us back to the 70's. Which is pretty much the time before we became a intrinsic part of the EU.

The country voted for Brexit - there was no discussion on the deal. It won't matter anyway because the 'deal' will be decided by the EU 27 - not the one leaving sticking 2 fingers up at everyone as it walks out the door.

Yes and it'll be the deal that works for Germany first and foremost. This won't be a negotiation.

    General Election

The only Brexit deal we will get is the one that the other 27 countries decide.

    General Election

Whether you like Corbyn or not it's clear that the rejection of Labour in Scotland and Wales is down to a) it being taken for granted for so long and b) a clear rejection of the Blairite 'Red Tory' regime. This would have happened irrespective of who was in charge of Labour.

    Rent

No doubt we'd get a cheap interim deal until the council dragged in a new club from Delhi or something. #CityofKabbadi

If that's the case then I look forward to the government actively selecting the bottom 10% of students in the UK in terms of attainment at the end of KS2 and taking them through the grammar school experience.

Just wondered why this thread has been "blocked for comment"?

Wasn't it subsumed into the Rent topic?

    General Election

It would be very interesting to see the age demographic of voters in local council elections. Especially pertinent as there 'appears' to be in a surge in the number of registered voters under 25. As much as it looks like a rosy picture for the Tories - will that translate the same way come...
