That said there have been some decent moments this year which we havent seen for some years. The first half against Gillls was the best half of football and atmosphere for years
Its like being 3-0 down in a 5 match test series then winning the last 2 because the shackles are off. On paper its close but once you were 3-0 down you had lost
But would we have won today if we were still in with a chance or would the pressure have got to them. For me once it became impossible, how many points away we finish is irrelevant
Nail on the head. Its no good turning it on once the season is dead. The team couldnt handle the pressure of a promotion campaign and didnt turn it on when it mattered. While its always good when we win I take no heart from today.
I imagine the first thought of everyone that day was that it was kicking off. Certainly what I thought at the time, so frequent was it. I can understand the mistakes made if not the cover up
Anyone who was involved in the behaviour that caused fences to be erected and turned match days into a major police operation have to shoulder the blame. 87 was scarey for sure but so were many other games. Difficult to imagine standing bearly able to move these days
Agree with all of this, lets not forget the noble hooligan forms whose behaviour week in week out led to football being policed in such an over agressive manner
