Do we all think O’Hare really downed tools? I didn’t see it like that, what I saw was someone who actually tried too hard to positively effect games, did too much. I don’t think O’Hare has it in him not to try, and just because his form dipped doesn’t mean he wasn’t trying.

I still think that more than any other England midfield player, Maddison can thread a pass through and unlock a tight defence. Foden and Bellingham are excellent players, but I don’t think they have that ability to the same extent as Maddison. I’d have taken him, even before last night.

It’s a funny team this. We had a lot of the game on Tuesday, and shouldn’t have lost. BUT, we deserved to lose because of the daft mistakes we made throughout the game, and because having equalised we should have gone on and won, but let them score again, almost immediately. A good Cov team...

I see quite a few City games in the home end, because I can’t get away tickets. Last two were Sheff Wed and Watford. We won both games, and I thoroughly enjoyed the games, even though I had to sit on my hands when we scored. Nothing wrong with it.

Just out of interest, how on earth does Southgate not start Maddison or even bring him on from the bench? The one player in that squad who can pick the pass that opens up a defence, and he leaves him out. Did Maddison have an injury niggle?
