Judgment on points from FA crucial

I think the way it works is that ARVO are creditors of CCFC Ltd, rather than owners. For some reason, SISU granted them a charge over pretty much everything at the club that wasn't bolted down, the land at Ryton and elsewhere, and even stuff like the club crest. This was just on a year ago...

    Arena Construction Completion Report

I'm baffled, There's a lot of conflated arguments here. First up, the Council haven't recieved a penny from ACL, have they? There hasn't been a dividend on the council's share of ACL. However, if the council didn't take over the £14m mortgage from Yorkshire then there was the real risk that...

    Arena Construction Completion Report

I'd suggest the Council did back the club when it bailed out the stadium project when it was about to fail because of CCFC's hideous mismanagement. However there are about 300,000 people in the city, and the council has a duty to all of them, not just the 10,000 or so hard-core CCFC fans...

    Arena Construction Completion Report

Got it, many thanks OSB. So that's the £20m everyone's on about. It's not shown in that report because by the time the development started, CCFC had no financial interest in the land. Is it just me, or is it staggering mismanagement to spend £20m on land you don't own?

    Arena Construction Completion Report

Hold on. Didn't we do all this yesterday? Is the point of reposting this to try to get a different answer? To repeat - where in that breakdown does it show CCFC putting £20m into this? According to those figures, CCFC put less than £2m into a development that cost £116m. Tesco put £59m in...

New Leeds owners looking to sell already...

Well, fwiw, I reckon you'll be able to pick us up for a lot less than the asking price for Leeds. As the old saying goes though, you get what you pay for. ;) We're a lot closer to a major airport too, which has to be a consideration if you're travelling in from the US to watch games. If it...

Coventry Hall of Fame - Premiership years

I'll not have a word said against Jarni. In all of the time he spent at the club, he never put a foot wrong ;)

Why do our potential investors need to wait for admin to buy the Arena?

Yep, looking at the books Tesco paid £42m for the land, and £17m 'contribution in kind'. That £17m seems to meet what's listed elsewhere as the cost of decontamination and infrastructure. So Tesco stuck in £59m overall, to the total budget of around £116m.

Why do our potential investors need to wait for admin to buy the Arena?

Erm... where in those books can you see CCFC contributing £20m to land decontamination? To me, what those books show is a total cost of development of the site of around £120m, and about £60m coming from Tesco. To complete the build ACL borrowed £22m (of which £14m or so was still outstanding...

    McSheffrey

I'm staggered by the mentality of 'fans' that choose to boo their own players, especially during a game. To try to justify booing an individual by saying that it might draw the manager's attention to a poor performance is frankly, ludicrous. As is the assertion that booing might somehow...

Who are the Sky Blue Trust

Forgive me, but it seems like kind of a circular argument being put forward here. "The trust hasn't got enough members to make a difference/claim to speak for the fans, so why should I join?". It's a quid, or one whole Hoffman, as Fisher calls it. You could join and probably still afford...

    Mark Labovitch re administration

Without the non-paying tenant there would be no need to retain the pitch, or the stands. In which case presumably ACL could do what they wish in terms of developing or selling bits of this area for office/retail/housing/hotels etc. I don't think anyone wants that outcome, but there's no doubt...

    Mark Labovitch re administration

FSA reasons? That's a new one to me. It might be true, but I'd like to see the chapter and verse on it. I can tell you a crystal clear FSA regulation though... identification of beneficial owners and the verification of the beneficial owner's identity This one I know, because I work in...

    Mark Labovitch re administration

I'm with you on this, OSB. I don't think there's any possiblity that SISU would stick with the club in the long term by heading down an, Admin/ground share/rebuild path. They've never been in this for the long haul - and that is a very long road indeed. It would take years just to get...

    Boothroyd Sacked!

Appreciate I'm in the minority, but I'm glad he's gone in truth. The team that I saw on Satdi simply didn't look interested. When I got home I said that I thought AB had lost the ability to motivate the players, and I think that's why they've swung the axe. The timing is horrible, but I...
