But he was a good payer for us at a crucial time and contributed to our important uplift in form at the backend of last season, I do agree though he would have been an expensive signing having said that a similar acquisition loan perhaps could be significant in our quest for top six or better.

I’m sure we are scouring the market for a left back we have the young Scottish lad Josh Reid who I would of hoped be knocking the door by now he has had Scottish premier experience with Ross County but not come to the plate yet which is disappointing.

I’d put attacking midfield as priority, admittedly we do need a centre half eventually to replace McFadz and long term maybe others but at the moment I think we can cope the rest of the season, but if MR can pluck one out the air for a bargain then yes get him, same with LWB or left fullback but...

Farke out………Robins in, What are the chances.

Have to agree if Dean Smith gets the Norwich job next week it means for what Villa see as failure he gets probably a couple of million payoff then a similar job probably on similar wages.

He was playing really well Saturday but until that daft penalty.

I do wonder if after that second half performance v Bristol MR will be tempted to go with a back four with two attacking fullbacks and an extra man in midfield probably won’t but could be another option.

Kane is a good player and a provern championship player the only one of our defence who is really.

I would love us to push the boat out and bring in a serious AM. Looking at our squad and splitting it defence. midfield and striker while I would accept any player that’s better I think we are covered at the back and striker. Can play back five, three at the back or as it proved Saturday a flat...

    Will Villa?

I actually think long term Gerrard could become an England manager rather than Liverpools will have to see how he does with Villa can’t see them troubling the top four spots.

    What if…?

What if we had appointed a proper experienced manager to succeed Jimmy Hill instead of a reserve team coach from Manchester United because Matt Busby reckoned he could do a good job
