Seems pretty unlikely to me that a player who was played, and impressed, in the cup on Saturday would be loaned out before the replay is played. And the replay isn’t until after the window shuts.

That’s the point I was trying to make. Government will regret it if the club’s fans are treated in a beastly fashion by club owners nd they hope the football authorities (usu referred to as the FA - only Cunningham spoke of the EFL) will do the right thing. The government will not get involved...

The outcome quite emphatically came from the sports minister. The government won’t get involved in the governance of football. It would be nice however if the FA/EFL would do the decent thing.

So many warm words about the need for football club owners to respect local fan-bases but not a word against Rugby franchises moving about the country.
