    UEFA EURO 2024

Agree about Shaw, would be great if he’s fit to start. I’d stick with mainoo in midfield though, I’ve not seen his stats and had had a few beers last night but thought he was excellent again. I did see that Bellingham made most tackles though (18), hell of a shift and looked a lot sharper...

    UEFA EURO 2024

Yeah, for all my frustrations regarding reactive subs and pretty turgid football, Southgate appears to have garnered a never say die attitude in the squad and a greater calmness. These things shouldn’t be underestimated

    UEFA EURO 2024

I don’t even mind us setting up defensively to start with, keep it tight, but make some fuckin subs when we’re losing control There’s players/starters out there that have played a game or two more than needed and certain players (palmer, Gordon, Toney etc) that should’ve had far more minutes...

Not read the posts but Sakas the man in all this. Didn’t need redemption as he was a kid that Southgate threw into the fire last time but what a great way to bury those demons…..equaliser and pen ! Get in lad !

It can be a combination of things. Population has grown by 5m in the past 14 years so of course that’s had an impact. Even if everyone’s net contributors we all know we don’t build anything quickly in this country. Throw in austerity and a pandemic (with regard to nhs). Peoples dissatisfaction...

Everyone’s running massive debt to gdp ratios and will be having the same challenges around servicing the debt as us. Fernando is right, we can print more and then the BoE buy our own guilts (sounds weird just typing it) but this is not without its own issues ie still have to pay interest back...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Interesting election Low turnout Very small margins/percentages* swinging large numbers of seats Rise of the small, single (ish) issue parties - reform and some independents (Palestine) which could be resolved by next election Should be some better times ahead in the short term at least...

Unionists will support Labour or Tory depending on likelihood of winning. As I mentioned though someone was saying Scottish exit poll might not be as accurate

I think the main issue with dependents was with regard to students. It was ridiculous but should’ve been resolved now ‘The Office for National Statistics (ONS) estimated that net migration was 672,000 from June 2022 to June 2023. In the year ending September 2023, 152,980 visas were issued to...

The debate is still dominated by the extremes, the zero migrants v the numbers don’t matter it’s all positive The answer, like with most things, lies in the middle but id imagine it’s very hard to get heard. Someone needs to come up with a coherent plan for starters. Brexit put immigration...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Im not sure about crumble but I do expect an increase in support of the right if we don’t get a handle on the numbers and/or at least have a clear plan/messaging around why higher net numbers are required The pressure and focus might ease in the coming months though. Naturally the migration...
