Still no negotiations over a ricoh return!

Hmm... from a rugby fan's viewpoint, can I just say that I'd have no interest in watching a 'bigger' team like London Irish play at the Ricoh on a regular basis or especially instead of watching Cov RFC. I support Cov RFC because they're Coventry's team. If Man Utd were suddenly parachuted...

Still no negotiations over a ricoh return!

I would think that any prospective owner would be more concerned with the viability of the club, rather than the real estate. That's about income streams, expenditure and squad potential rather than owning bricks and mortar, isn't it? It's an interesting thought though. Could there be a...

    No Dagnall tomoz

Good spot mate - that's at least one less goal that we'll have to score to win. ;)

    wolves in for leon clarke

Much as I dislike our owners, I think if someone comes in with a substantially bigger wage offer then Leon is likely to want to leave. SISU don't really have much control over that, in fairness. From that point on it's just about maximising the fee that we can get for him, or negotiating to...

    Northampton game off

Agreed that the pitch was rough towards the end of one season, although I think there is some debate over whether that was down to the owners declining to pay for required maintenance. Regardless, other than that the Ricoh pitch has always looked pretty decent to me. I'm not on a wind up here...

    Northampton game off

A lot of other places had severe weather too over the weekend and yet still managed to play their games. I don't know if the groundshare is the major reason why the game was postponed, but it's obviously going to have a significant impact. How many games did Northampton lose to heavy rainfall...

    Northampton game off

Yep, it doesn't matter how good the groundsman is, playing every week in this weather will wreck the pitch. A mudbath hardly favours our current style of play, and when it does finally dry I suspect it'll be bobbly - not great for passing teams either. Hard to see how it won't impact the team...

We should support the new stadium

You do spout some tosh. So, the money that Cov CC have got tied up (24m or so) will come from the magic money tree will it? And I'm a taxpayer and I care. Who's really talking bollocks here? Just 'cos you want to give it away, don't imagine everyone else in the city will stand for it.

We should support the new stadium

Quite possible mate, though it suggest a level of intelligence I'm yet to see in our owners. Has a certain, low animal cunning though... ;)

We should support the new stadium

OK, I get it. The presumption is that if we go along with it there are less excuses for SISU to use when it doesn't happen. I kind of see it, but I think there are a couple of problems. The first is that SISU clearly don't give a toss about what the fan's think. So it's a bit rich of them to...

Are SISU vindicitive enough to liquidate Otuim ?

A bit like the way they dropped 60m on CCFC Ltd. You don't need to liquidate to dump debt, Ltd could have been sold as a going concern to someone else and still used a a debt dump, had SISU wanted to do it that way.

Are SISU vindicitive enough to liquidate Otuim ?

There's nothing stopping them doing that, going into admin, and paying themselves (as presumably the main creditors) pennies in the pound, and still selling the remnant off. A bit like the CCFC Ltd farce. There's no need to liquidate the club to do that.

Unless, of course, the seller doesn't have a need to sell. Or the seller has a legal duty to prove that they've gained the best possible return for the asset in question. And the market value of a car or a house, represents the market value on the open market, and typically takes into account...

Are SISU vindicitive enough to liquidate Otuim ?

I still don't see why SISU would liquidate, gaining nothing, if there's the option to sell for something. I don't doubt their unpleasantness to deal with, it's part of why we are were are, but I don't think they're dumb enough to turn down even a relatively small return if that's all that's on...

Ah, everyone knows that 62% of statistics are completely made up. ;) In terms of the blame game, I think it's clear that there are three groups. Mostly/All SISU's fault, Mostly/All ACL's fault, Equal blame. I'm not sure the proportions within those groups really matter, or are likely to...

    has les been silenced

I feel some obligation here to stand up for Les. We hold very different views on the the SISU/ACL stuff, but to give him some credit he will engage with you in detail about it if you email him and ask him why he holds those opinions. He's a fan, like us. I've got more than one friend that I...

    Ricoh Valuation.

In fairness in finance I've seen mm used quite a lot in this sense. It's certainly not an SI unit though. Anyway, I'm off to stretch my legs for a few furlongs. I might stop by the pub for a quart of ale, followed by an eighth of a gill of something warming. I'll leave the yard to the big...
