Great goal. I’m sure our 9 men will get us back into it.

It’s actually even more frustrating we’re starting to pull a few passes together and playing a bit more in their half, as imagine if we did have our strongest team starting (I know it’s not that black and white). Shows they can be vulnerable and that intensity they started with doesn’t last 90.

And yet despite all that we just had a decent spell and COH and Ayari had two decent little exchanges. Unfortunately that will be justification for no changes until 70 mins.

We knew it from the start but the more you watch the more Ayari and COH in for Godden and Sakamoto seems an absolutely wank call. Not just their individual performances but tactically we look clueless.

Bidwell and Allen coming together was amazing tbf.

Really don’t like writing players off, but Ayari should not be starting in the Championship. Technically good, lots of potential but the awareness, confidence and positional sense of a child. COH is in the same bracket right now too. And we’ve changed from a formation, tactic and team which...

Formation looks bonkers. 4-2-3-1 with Allen and Ayari in the wider slots and a massively unfit and not sharp COH at 10? And that was embarrassingly easy.

Trying to be optimistic; keep it tight for 60 mins, then unleash Simms, Sakamoto and Godden (depending how Wright is playing) on for width and fresh legs. Maybe MR has packed it with footballers to try and play through then? No idea. Seems very narrow and lacking pace though and COH look’s...

Christmas tree / COH and Ayari as inside forwards Not the team I’d play or I expected but I’m not a professional football manager, and I’m sure there are reasons for it. Doesn’t scream counter attack to me as that’s more of a footballing team than a direct pacey one. Just got to hope it works.

I too would like Simms for Godden. If they play a high line and we are playing pure counter attacking football then Simms pace and hold up play will suit us better. However I doubt it’ll happen and if anything Sakamoto will be dropped for Simms. Feeling confident on this one; one great...

    Coventry gigs

The K’s at the Empire tonight. Hadn’t heard of them three weeks ago, but been look at local venues (Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester etc) and this one stood out as a date that worked and for £16 a ticket it was worth it. I’ve spent the last three weeks listening to them to the point I’m...

Also, we all have a strong affiliation with COH, but he looks absolutely miles off. His touch, awareness and sharpness all need to improve significantly for us to even contemplate starting him. And certainly not in a wide position. That being said if he’s off in Jan, I don’t really care -...

Match Thread Coventry City - Plymouth Argyle Match Thread - Tuesday 28th Nov

Started really well; we looked positive, full of energy and we were finding so much space, then faded. Second half we looked solid defensively and ok offensively. Plymouth tweaked their shape so we had less space and it was evident we found it harder to break them down. However we still created...

Sheaf getting more and more frustrated with lack of movement in front of him. I know he can score but it has to be Godden off for Simms soon.

Very high. And as well as Sheaf and Eccles have played, a few early releases for Wright and Sakamoto (and Simms if he comes on) would be nice.

Despite the whole Maguire look a like thing, Kitching has massively grown on me too. Looks more and more established and loves a slotted pass through midfield.
