Teams you have an irrational liking for

Sheffield Wednesday (the name), Alloa Athletic and Hibernian (family connection) Oldham Athletic (first game I saw - v Bradford City in the Cup) and MK Dons (I admire what they've done)

Teams you have an irrational hate for

Wolves - dates back to the 1967 season

Perhaps Grimsby have done us a favour and found him out in a way U23 games don't.

Ngandu only a sub, and now behind Howley as a midfielder. Does that mean he is not going to make it?

    Match Thread Huddersfield away

Three thoughts from abroad For a bloke who cost £750k (I believe) when he was playing for Peterborough Reseves, we have had very good return on our investment in Godden over 3 years I still remain very dubious that Jones will ever make it at this or any level, as I think he is just too...

    Match Thread WBA (h) - 12:30 - Sat 4th - on Sky

Time to give up on 3 at the back? 4 with a holding man (Sheaf?) in front. Maybe neither of the full backs are good enough for that.

Now remind me when was the last time a youth player gained a regular first team place. The answer is Bayliss, four seasons ago. So no we don't bring players through. We develop potential then flog them before people realise they are not quite good enough - see Thomas, Stevenson, Bayliss...

Where do you think we'll finish this season ??

10th or thereabouts. We have gained 6 points from three late goals - the moves in advance for each being max 20 secs each, so one minute of football in 180 minutes each at the very end of the game. Two came from poor clearances one from a deflection*. It is tiny margins as always that have...

    Item Would you be happy?

Football would be a lot better if every club was run in the way Ashley ran Newcastle - i.e within its means and with no silly money. Sadly that ship has sailed, and the reality is that a small number of clubs have finance that places them on a different planet. The owners of Man City etc have...

Match Thread Fulham Match Thread - Sat 2nd Oct

There seems to be a difference of opinion on who hit the sumptuous pass to Vik for the 4th goal - most say Sheaf. But others say Godden had a hand in three goals and as he had no role in the third that I can see, it assumes it was him who hit the pass for the 4th. Hard to see on the pc screen...
