Labovitch calls for independent ACL valuation

ACL may indeed have fancied a new owner once the Administration process started - but once again it's obvious that there's no mechanism for that to happen if SISU pay the bills, or indeed negotiate in good faith. There were plenty of chances to sort this way before it got into Appleton's hands...

Labovitch calls for independent ACL valuation

I'm sorry, in what way are ACL or CCC trying to distress SISU?

Labovitch calls for independent ACL valuation

There is mate. Drop the plan to distress ACL in the hope of picking up the whole thing on the cheap, and bring the club back to the Ricoh. In itself this will make the club a few million quid next season and rebuild a few bridges. Once there, start negotiating in good faith, perhaps along the...

    Another smashing day in court

There's been plenty of chat about the football before, during, and even after the season. However this particular thread is talking about the court stuff. Some of us see that as more important than any single game or player, perhaps. If you don't, fair enough. Feel free to ignore the thread...

    Another smashing day in court

Exactly that. There's a big difference between the grinding down of individuals and private companies with the threats and pressure of expensive legal action, and to trying to do it against public bodies like the council. Fundamentally they've taken on someone with deep enough pockets to see...

Council and Sky Blues in court tomorrow

Rubbish. Supporting the Council against SISU in this has nothing to do with wanting the club to fail. In fact from where I'm standing it's completely the opposite. If the JR fails SISU face some hard choices: Stick it out at Northampton whilst losing a stack of money and build the new stadium...

Council and Sky Blues in court tomorrow

I'd have to be pissed (as a rat) to write 110 pages in the first place, though in fairness if I could pad it out with illustrations I'd have a chance. I wouldn't do any horses though, I'm crap at drawing horses. ;) Talking of which, two rats in a sewer. First rat says, "Sh*t, sh*t, sh*t...

Council and Sky Blues in court tomorrow

In fairness at the point of the original application for the JR it was reported that the Council wanted as early a court date as possible. From reading Simon Gilbert's tweets the SISU QC seems to be pushing for the same. I think both sides want this to get in front of a judge, which perhaps...

Tim Fisher - "you'll be back after 3 matches"

This is a really great post. I don't always agree with Torchy, but he's spot on here, imho. It's not for me or anyone else to tell him that he should or shouldn't go to Sixfields, and I respect his reasons for the choice that he's made. In saying that it is my honest belief that one of the...

Council and Sky Blues in court tomorrow

It is an important law, agreed. In truth though, and in fairness to Nick, I'm not sure that I'd want to trust it if my job was on the line. Too many grey areas, imho. There are plenty of ways of leaking stuff out without endangering your job though, if you're clever. Could it be possible...

Council and Sky Blues in court tomorrow

Erm... I don't have any 'mates' at the council. I make my judgements based on evidence, and I try to explain myself. Sometimes you come across as a reasonable bloke, sometimes you come over as a complete tit. This is one of the latter. Let's cut the bullshit here for one moment. Let's say...

Council and Sky Blues in court tomorrow

I'm not sure they've been banned from talking to SISU as much as advised by the legal department to refrain from commenting on the case. I think this is fairly common when you've got a big legal case coming up - the idea is that you don't want to give the other side something that they'll try...

Council and Sky Blues in court tomorrow

The problem is that once stuff goes to court both sides will only want to release the 'facts' that suit their case. We've been here before, I think. I'm all for a truly independent enquiry, in which all sides are obliged to open up - at the moment all we're seeing is the council coming under...

Council and Sky Blues in court tomorrow

Ta for the updates Simon. With all this going on wouldn't it be cheaper for the CET to just buy you a flat near the High Court - your expenses must be crippling. ;) It seems a bit late in the day for this, are SISU still looking for the 'smoking gun'? In truth though I sort of hope they win...

    Judicial Review thread

I don't think it goes quite this far. Councils lose JRs from time to time, I can't remember ever hearing of councillors resigning as a result. If the council lose the JR, I think the impact is that ACL will probably have to find alternative funding. It doesn't hand everything over to SISU...

    Ricoh sponsor value

Don't quote me on this, but I think it started to move to AWD when talking about saloons and family cars (think Subaru, Volvo, Audi), to differentiate them from the (infrequently) muddy monsters known as 4WD. I'm kind of old school on this, having worked for LR back in the day. It's not a true...

    Ricoh sponsor value

All Wheel Drive. For Land Rovers, 4WD (4-Wheel Drive) might probably be a more traditional way of putting it. I'm not sure that anyone's seriously suggesting a Land Rover theme park at the Ricoh - but as long as the club isn't there who cares what they do to make a few bob, imho.

Festa to spend £180mill in 3 years

Ah no, didn't mean it like that - fair play to them. It's just that the whole set up of the PL stinks now. The game has gone crazy, and all of the money ends up in the hands of a few top players whilst most clubs and fans below the very top suffer. To be competitive in the PL now, you seem to...
