    Disturbing

I'd agree with this in part, both sides clearly do better with each other in place. But I don't think that dropping an unreasonable demand is a likely basis for being given a peppercorn rent and the 50% of revenue which was previously sold. I can't see anyone settling for that. But coming...

    Disturbing

Aside from moral arguments regarding contracts and law etc. and the fact that (like it or not) the taxpayer is invested in ACL, the way that SISU deal or don't deal with ACL should be of huge interest to any fan of CCFC. It's because it's key to playing football in the city. It also patently...

    Disturbing

It's a strawman argument, the OP. People aren't openly celebrating the likely demise of the club. Some people are happy to see SISU lose, because they think this was a case without foundation, brought with the primary intent to financially distress ACL rather than on any point of principle...

    Blair Adams gone.....

It's a whole new model. Other clubs play with a "False 9"... http://www.thefalse9.com/2013/09/football-tactics-for-beginnersthe-false.html ... we've expanded the theory to include a "Bogus 2" and an "Invisible 3". Expect more to follow. SP and SISU, always one move ahead. ;)

Ann Lucas: Coventry council has been "vindicated" in Ricoh Arena row

In fairness to Robo, I've got no proof that what he says isn't correct, and his opinion is at least as valid as mine (possibly more valid, if you accept that this is also the official line from the club). Happy to agree to differ on this - the only way we'll know for sure is if the legal fees...

Ann Lucas: Coventry council has been "vindicated" in Ricoh Arena row

No proof mate, but why wouldn't they? You don't go to investors and say we need £9.5 million for the club and £0.5 million for associated legal battles, do you?

    Development coach contract terminated

Yep, that's a reasonable enough comment. It could well just be restructuring - I suppose it's the timing and everything else around it that make me nervous. No actual evidence in farness.

Ann Lucas: Coventry council has been "vindicated" in Ricoh Arena row

Not trying to pick a row, but where else can the money come from Rob? SISU are the only ones financing the club. It would seem odd to me to have two pots of money, one labelled "CCFC Funding", and one labelled "Legal Battles (Misc)".

    Development coach contract terminated

Is this simple cost-cutting, or are they unhappy with his performance? I thought that in general terms SP was happy with the flow of players coming from the academy. The timing of this, just after the JR, and aligned with Blair Adams also being paid off is a little worrying - but then we've...

Comical interview with Fisher on cwr

Actually, fwiw, what I see here is that the club are beginning to realise that they're going to have to talk to ACL/CCC. However, they just can't bear to let the court stuff lie, as it still holds out the slim possibility of giving them a cheap way into the Ricoh. I don't believe for a moment...

Fisher will discuss interim rent deal

Fair play here to Rob. I don't care if we don't hear too much about it, as long as there's some pressure being brought to bear and the chance of a meeting. Stick at it mate. :)

Does CCFC stand for Crown Court Football Club?

I'm hoping we can make in into a European court this year. As well as it being a terrific away day, until you've tested yourself yourself against some of the best judges in the world you can't really say that you've made it. Plus, financially, it's a different league. :)

Fisher will discuss interim rent deal

Ooh, you bitter old cynic you. You're the sort of bloke who could watch "Lassie Come Home" and not cry. It's going to happen. We're coming back. Almost, definitely, probably, possibly, certain. Ish. ;)

    Fisher statement: Judge was wrong!

Hmm. Good and bad here. Bad: The intent to appeal and drag all of this out still further. Good: Is that a tiny chink of light in the possiblity of at least a temporary rental deal with ACL? That's almost encouraging. ;)

Unfortunately, we really are in no mans land

It's a lot more than that, Stu, the judge gives a fairly detailed breakdown of the chain of events and what he sees as SISU's plan and motivation. It's fairly damning of SISU, I'd say, but have a read and see what you think for yourself. You'll want to make yourself a cuppa first, it's 46...

    CLUB STATEMENT - JR Verdict

There's real merit in that. A media ceasefire would be a really good idea, where all sides just agree to sit down together and discuss stuff peacefully (non-disclosure agreements all round), and everyone promises not to say anything nasty about anyone else in public regardless of how right or...

    CLUB STATEMENT - JR Verdict

Right. I hope we've got the JR circus out of the way for a bit now, and that SISU aren't granted leave to appeal to keep it running a bit longer. What needs to happen now is an unambiguous offer from ACL for a low-rent short-term deal, accompanied with proper discussions on what can be offered...

    Ricoh Station

As a bitter old cynic, can I just make the point that the people building the station won't have any say in the type or frequency of the trains that run on it. I'm happy to stick a fiver on the fact that we'll get a shiny new station halt, serviced by one train an hour* that's appoximately the...

Ricoh Arena and Development Land Value ?

Didn't OSB point out that ACL (in their last set of accounts) had a fair amount of cash in the bank and were signed off by the auditors without any 'going concern' warnings. Now obviously the cash flow etc. only covers the last accounting period, but it hardly suggests that they are on the...
