    Nobodies Happy!

How can that possibly happen? Wasps have them now, and presumably they need them for their business. Wasps primary requirement from CCFC is that they pay the rent. If CCFC are successful, I can see there's likely to be more money coming in through the doors of the arena on matchdays, but...

    Nobodies Happy!

I don't think there's much scope for claiming injury because the council refused to sell to Wasps. The council made their case against SISU on the basis of ACL being profitable and sustainable, on that basis is there no obligation on them to sell. Similarly, they could've argued that the...

    Nobodies Happy!

The Council said they were going to consult CRFC prior to any decision to bring in another rugby team, and they didn't. Even worse, one of their criteria for making the decision about Wasps was that it wouldn't hurt CRFC, but without that consultation there simply couldn't have established that...

    Nobodies Happy!

But apparently there wasn't a financial problem - ACL was profitable and sustainable, according to the council when they took on the loan. Or are you saying that CCC were lying? As for a Judicial Review, I don't think you really understand how they work. There's no scope for a JR in the...

    Higgs statement

I'm with you on a lot of this Hobo. In actuality, the road-map proposal Fisher put forward way back when was a really clever, credible proposal imho. It wasn't far off the Wasps deal at all. The problem was that it didn't seem to be negotiated in good faith. It started with a threat to pull...

Absolutely. You don't get thrown out of your professional society for failing. You get thrown out because of how you've handled the failure. It's an honour/integrity/ethics thing. Is there a reason you're making excuses for the bloke? He might well be a lovely chap - but having had more...

    Councillor Response to Wasps Sale

Wasps, cup game in 2007. Attendance 21,506. Not 28,000. A very substantial away following as well, given it was against Munster. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/7082811.stm If they don't trouble themselves to research the basics, then what hope is there.

As torchy's point above really - I don't think petitions necessarily reflect the true volume or depth of feeling. But if you look at their boards, they read an awful lot like our boards when we moved to Northampton. And we know how popular that move was with our fans

Please tell me you're not using the 'nomadic team' bullshit as a cover for this. That's pathetic. Man up and just admit that you don't care about Wasps fans, I've got more respect for that point of view. And who says the FL wouldn't allow CCFC to move again. You're kidding yourself -...

    Councillor Response to Wasps Sale

The response I've just received from a councillor, in reply to my email sent prior to the vote. I've stripped out the names, but looking at the original document properties, and the style of writing employed, I think that this is a generic letter that everyone who emailed a councillor will be...

Fair enough - appreciate the honesty. However, our owners said they moved to Northampton for commercial reasons. They may yet do so again. What right do you have to complain about either move if you're supporting Wasps in this?

In fairness, I think plenty of Wasps fan mind. Put yourself in their shoes and go read their boards. But the point you've made is the key one - if you're happy to let this through or support it because it's "just business", then you can't complain when a team you do care about gets shafted.

Absolutely agree. I think my concern (other than the ethics of franchising), is that actually this deal is more likely to damage the club in the long term.

Off the top of my head, RICS (Chartered Surveyor). If you google him it comes up - the benefit of having an unusual name. Edit: Beaten to it, as usual.

Because of Byng's history (expelled from his professional organisation), he is the one man who actually would not qualify under FL rules as a fit and proper person to be a director of the football club. That tells me all I need to know really.

Ah, would that were true. If that was the case neither MK Dons nor Wasps would get any support.

CANT WAIT ! Go COV WASPS !

Alias Smith & Jones is back on freeview, fwiw. I'm afraid that the best theme tune for a Western series is Bonanza though, there simply is no argument on that one, sorry. ;) And best western series, Kung Fu, surely? OK, well it was set in the Old West. Every action film ever made can...

Northampton and Leicester may have similar concerns. The point is that they are not right on our doorstep, and they haven't been franchised in overnight. Do you really think Wasps are any more concerned about CRFC or CCFC than those teams are? Obviously Wasps would like CCFC as a tenant, to...

CCFC can still have the Higgs 50% share ???

They're a franchise club now. They've made their decision about where they stand, I'd have no issue with this personally. Every time a franchise club is damaged or broken, people will think twice about trying it again.
