    McSheffrey

He was class, but Cov fans still over rated him. Annoying thing about McSheff is that he's shown individual class last season on v rare occassions but overall he is poor, gives possession away easily, disruptsmove by shooting at stupid times when moves are developing, he is selfish, and...

    McSheffrey

'Macca' has always been slightly over rated because he's a cov lad.

    McSheffrey

You just contracdicted yourself! So you're saying 4-4-2 will be our strength but we have no pace nor crossing ability to complement it!? Therefore, you just pretty much said, 4-4-2 is our strength but don't have the players to play it  When Fleck + Barton + Jennings come into the...

    Coventry avoid squad crisis....

It wouldn't be 'unfair' playing a player who is willing to fight for the cause (winning) than a player who thinks he deserves to get paid for turning up, even if he performs poorly. Personally, I think this would motivate the players more, they know if they win, they'll get just as much...

    Coventry avoid squad crisis....

We're forcing them because we can't AFFORD to keep these players and why would we play, essentially, contract rebels? People who want to DAMAGE OUR CLUB by not agreeing to this!? Are you with the club or players? Obviously it isn't illegal because the players could go to the PFA!

    Coventry avoid squad crisis....

To set the record straight before I say what I'm going to say, I'm not pro-SiSU. Too many people on this forum wait to shoot SiSU down for anything! IMO, I think, for once, SiSU are doing the 'right' thing, cutting wages for players we, in reality, can't afford to keep (if they hadn't signed...

    Coventry avoid squad crisis....

Thanks for the 'news', but I'll take this with a pinch of salt. Make that a handful of salt, not a pinch of salt.

Dagenham & Redbridge: build up thread

I see what your getting at, it isn't too bad an idea BUT, AT will not play formation.

Dagenham & Redbridge: build up thread

No, it applies to the C1C, because we should rest key players for a game with signifcance, chances are, we'll get a lower champ side in R2 if we win, which won't generate jack* Also, players need to be rest when and where possible for a couple of reasons: 1) We have a pretty small squad 2) we...

Dagenham & Redbridge: build up thread

We're not 100% going to win, even if we play are best XI! What can we gain by not playing a full team? Guaranteed no players rested will get injured, the players rested will be fresher, also, players who don't quite fit into Thorn's plans have a chance to impress! The 'we need to gel'...

Dagenham & Redbridge: build up thread

Ok, assuming we play a full strength team and lose, like last year to Bury, your theory is flawed... It's better to play a weakened side to rest our best players for a long and difficult season without needless distractions e.g. a cup we won't win.

Dagenham & Redbridge: build up thread

Thomas is an asset imo as he can play anywhere in our midifeld, Kilbane imo, is more than capable playing LB, DM, CM for us, Brown and Jennings can play there so DM is 'sorted'. CM is also covered, Kilbane is not 'at a push' but Baker is, but they can still play there. AM is sorted...

Dagenham & Redbridge: build up thread

The 4-2-3-1 formation imo, does not suit us and the diamond is here to stay and I think it could work against in particular, 4-4-2 playing teams. People who put McSheffrey in CM is more because no one knows where to put him! We have a decent amount of CMs; Jennings (if signed), Daniels...

Dagenham & Redbridge: build up thread

I personally think Thorn should not play a full team. He should play something like this: Dunn Clarke Malaga Edge Hussey Daniels Baker Kilbane Jeffers Elliott ROD (Hungarian if signed) Players like Hussey + Clarke to play v Yeovil

Dagenham & Redbridge: build up thread

I doubt we'll play a strong team, no point, it's daggers, we're not going to get past R3 and we may as well keep the defo starters fit for Yeovil. You do know Barton in on International duty
  16. Mucca Mad Boys

    Clingan

Clingan in his first season would be hands down our best midfield but unfortunatley, he wasn't himself for whatever reasons (Boothroyd largely) and last season looked disinterested (imo). But with a midfield with Barton, Fleck, Thomas and potentially Jennings, I personally wouldn't have him...

Player you really hope has a great year?

Obviously we want the whole team to have a goodun but I'd personally like to see Barton do really well, prove PNE haters wrong and resurrect his career and if he does good enough to attract Liverpool + Chelsea, we could pocket massive profit.

    The Injured

I agree, Platt is embarresingly bad, to the point where his 'experience' means * all! I genuinely think Elliott could be a good signing.
  19. Mucca Mad Boys

    The Injured

It does, but it counts for nothing if you are simply terrible i.e. Platt Elliott has more experience in winning at a higher level and I'd rather him to nurture talent than Platt any day of the week!
  20. Mucca Mad Boys

    The Injured

So we lacked a leader last year when Platt was here, when he goes... He's a leader!? He is not a leader, he does not have good communicational skills, he , certainly does not have know-how when it comes to scoring! Ball is 19, scored same amount than Platt last year in less games, so...
