Very fair point. Some players have tried really hard and worked really hard too, all but running themselves into the ground. Doesn't send the right message if these players are discarded for a player who didn't want to play for us at all and couldn't be bothered to put the effort in half the time.

Maybe, just maybe, he IS sincere. I have been very critical of him, but if he does want to pull his socks up and try his best for the team and applies himself properly then I am sure we'd all be happy.

Well, yep. If Reid gets picked, IS consistent, then it has to be hats off and a big pat on the back for Mark Robins. The whole problem with Reid has been that he only turns it on about 1 game in 6. We all know he has the skill and it's just the application that is lacking.
