If the UK was recording the figures Spain was then there would be far less concern and criticism of the government’s approach. As people have already said on here - we’re opening up with higher figures than when we locked down. And even if someone wanted to argue that direction of trajectory it...

They have 0 deaths and still think the risk is too great. There’s little point in quoting success for another country when our country pales into comparison and you then don’t get the scrutiny...

With people like Trump in charge they feel empowered. The Brexit vote did something similar here in the UK albeit not on the same scale - (it also took away from people that wanted to leave the EU but were not of this nature)

Institutional racism is ingrained in American society (and lots of other places) - now they have a leader that makes these people feel empowered so it re-emerges even more than before.

The fact is he shouldn’t have to say it - he needs to because too many people are fucking morons. This is when leadership has to model this and take the lead.

But we do not have a plan. All we have is a series of knee jerk reactions from the government as they feel pressure from ‘interested parties’ The last 2 weeks have been a disorganised shambles - even you are acknowledging it with the schools, the track and trace and then Cummings.

If we’re not already living in an episode of Black Mirror then we’re pretty close.
