Agree with the others above, Grimes was ineffective last night. In fact has been below par for several weeks. Looks lightweight. For whatever reason, a Grimes, Rudoni, Torp/Eccles midfield is not dominating. They were poor at getting the ball to EMC - that is probably why some above are giving...

The problem was once again on the left in defence. Kitching and JDS concede goals. I expect there is some statistical index out there that proves me wrong, but my sense of it is that it is on the left where we are weakest. JDS is pleasing on the eye but as a defender is still woeful.

Match Thread Coventry City - Millwall FC Match Thread - Tuesday 20th Jan

Three of my favourite games were v Millwall. 3-1 in 1967 - last game of the promotion season 4-1 away under Mowbray. Armstrong hat trick but triggered by an early Burge penalty save. That was in the day when it was easy to get an away ticket! 1-0 home under Robins in the play-off season...

Nothing like a bit of competition for your place in the 1st team. See also the impact of wolfendon arriving - never played a game but we had 5 clean sheets in a row after that.

Up thread I "liked" going with the same starting team as Saturday . But might be tempted to start with Yang rather than EMC He should at least get 30 minutes either way

Tactical issues and corrections vs Leicester

This has been the problem for a while. Ipswich over ran us in midfield. Does it come with having a player like Grimes?

As we were pretty crap for half of the game nobody should get over a 7. The exception is rushworth. And we should worry that yet again we got a win because of our goalkeeper. Lati was good but the rest of the back 4 really struggled in their core job - defending Two scrambled slightly...

    25/26 January Transfer Window

Changing the subject, are the vibes that? a) Much as Torp has improved and much as he contributes, he (and for that matter Eccles) are perceived as being not quite good enough. Good players, but not quite good enough in a tough competitive business. Torp is replaced by the Brentford fella or...

    25/26 January Transfer Window

    1. Hamer more than anyone got us to the play offs that year. Just remember the Boro goal. He wanted it. 2. He continued in good form until very recently with Blades. 3. Much as I like Torp, Hamer at his best is different gravy, a game changer 4. We need a better midfield. He is the type of...

    25/26 January Transfer Window

My Palace friend's response "Well, I'm not sure Glasner thinks he's good enough to play in a 2 man midfield, not yet at least. But he's not been with us that long and I would think he still hopes he can develop to fit the position. Glasner is committed to the system, hence buying Brennan...

    25/26 January Transfer Window

According to a Palace supporting mate, Esse is not part of Glassner's plans. That implies he does not view him as potentially Prem standard. So, two things: he's a loan and to a championship club so that doesn't matter. Secondly Frank's proven ability to improve players may yet prove Glassner...

I don't want Wilson, I want a central defender out of a better drawer that either Thomas or Kitching. Leaking goals against Brum and Ipswich.

Central defender who is an upgrade on either Thomas or more likely Kitching. Let's face it we should have beaten Brum 2-0

They are good at home, rubbish away. In the last month we have been upper-mid table quality. Close game 1-0 either way. Fear the worst. Even with JDS back I'd go three at the back Rushworth Thomas - Kitching - whoever Frank fancies MVE Grimes, Torp, Rudoni JDS Simms & EMC
