Repeating myself from previous games, but I really don’t get this shape or tactic. Rudoni wasted out wide, Sakamoto involved more than last game, but looks a bit lost, and Simms isolated. Go back to two up front or all out 4-3-3, the current shape/tactic is not producing what we know we are...

Fair play to Kitching. I hear a fair bit from behind the scenes and he was a ‘bad egg’ - the ITK were right. However he’s absolutely turned it around and it’s been reflected in the commitment in his recent performances. He deserves the recognition tonight. Big ol redemption arc - nice to see.

    Jack burroughs

Not sure what’s gone wrong really. He looked more than good enough when he made his debut a few years ago, then had a poor game, was dropped and hasn’t done anything since. He cannot have regressed that much? Appreciate he won’t start ahead of JDS, but I would like to see him get minutes.

As long as the middle three is; Grimes Torp Rudoni We will at least have the ability to create through the middle. Flat back 4 is too big a risk with JDS. And I don’t think we have the wingers available to warrant it. If we do go flat then Binks or Burroughs LB.

    Raphael

Just very raw, naive and not used to the physicality of the league yet. It’s great he wants to take people on and try and drive forward, but he’ll need more in his arsenal to succeed doing in doing that. He loves a heavy touch too. All things that will improve with experience and top coaching.

Honestly don’t think anyone comes out of today with any credit at all. If you really wanted to push it, you could argue: Rudoni - didn’t hide, decent technique and in tight situations as always, but wasted out left and poor set pieces today (unlike him) Kitching - stepped out with the ball a...

Match Thread Coventry City - Ipswich Town [FA] Match Thread - Saturday 8th Feb

I can sort of see that, but in reality it looked like Thomas was man marking Clarke, so being dragged all over the place, Lati was tucking in the cover and therefore leaving acres of space down our right/their left which is where we kept being overloaded. Where as JDS seemed to be playing more...

I genuinely don’t get the shape. If you are playing RM/LM (Saka and Rudoni today), what is your role? You’ve got a WB behind you and a CM the other side. If you get the ball you’ve got one player ahead of you. When those players are a WB who won’t overlap and can’t play, and two CM’s not known...

Lati has been shite but in his defence playing him RWB is mental.

20 minutes left, same defensive shape, same absolutely exposed RWB, still 2/4 midfielders who can’t create. Not sure Frank got the King FA Cup message.

Sakamoto is fine. He’s playing right midfield with a RWB behind him so naturally that doesn’t work, plus it’s. RWB who can’t overlap. He also has a striker who can’t play the lone role ahead of him. Judge him when he’s had time in his as actual position.

Let’s not get too despondent. It’s a strange formation with players out of position / not on form playing. Play an actual formation, tactic and actually attack and we have a chance.

If you were playing for us would you want the ball? Attacking movement is non existent. Got to get more offensive players on second half.

Repeating this as they look vulnerable especially to crosses.
