Wasps owner rules out allowing CCFC to have a stake in ACL as well as buying the...

It seems to be accepted wisdom because it actually makes pretty good sense. It certainly makes good sense for Wasps, which is presumably why they are not interested in selling it. FFP and SCMP clearly impose problems that require broader income streams than we currently have. Saying those...

Wasps owner rules out allowing CCFC to have a stake in ACL as well as buying the...

C'mon Otis - it's there in black and white. I didn't believe Richardson when he said he wanted to work in partnership with CCFC, because it was obvious to anyone who cared to look that what Wasps wanted was the stadium and they'd have said anything to get it. It also suited the council to...

    PR battles

There's no doubt that Wasps are very good at PR, to go back to the OP. That's not always a good thing though - what they've done here is what every good PR company in the world wants to achieve, hide bad news behind good spin. Bad News I: For CRFC fans, Wasps want to start playing on...

Wasps owner rules out allowing CCFC to have a stake in ACL as well as buying the...

We don't have to assume the worst, it's there in black and white - we're not going to get a share of the stadium. Everyone here who banged on about needing to talk to Wasps to try to get a share should surely accept that it's not going to happen. It seems clear that Wasps think they need the...

Wasps want to play on Saturdays...

The football club might still get fixture priority (because Wasps are currently obliged contractually to provide that), but if you're a Cov RFC supporter this is worrying... http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/wasps-rfc-could-play-home-9059066 Wasps statement: "The club will...

    The Bradford Fire

You'd think that, but maybe the crowd provided the perfect cover via the discarded cigarette argument that the investigator accepted. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/apr/15/bradford-fire-martin-fletcher-stafford-heginbotham I don't know the truth of it, I don't think anyone does, but...

    ***Relegation Thread***

I still think that we'll go to Crawley with a mathematical chance of relegation - but that it would take a remarkable set of results on the last day for it to happen, and therefore we'll end up safe. Being Coventry we won't do this the easy way, we have to have something to worry about on the...

Wasps owner Derek Richardson explains Coventry move and rejects "franchise" tag

It's a franchise. It's just embarassing that he'd pretend it's anything else. As for all of the other bullshit around "we looked at other areas", come off it, where else was there a 32,000 seater stadium available for the £5.7m Wasps paid? Wasps didn't have to move, it was all about money...

    Sisu pr

Naah, what's sad is pretending that Wasps isn't a franchise to justify getting one over on SISU. And then some even advocating that we sell the club to them because somehow Wasps have become model owners and champions of the city of Coventry at home and abroad. Or is that just embarassing...

    Sisu pr

As for Wasps paying off the loan in full, that's good news for the taxpayer I'd say - as long as the council aren't loaning them the money to do it. ;) I wonder if this means that there is some nervousness from CCC/Wasps about the next proposed JR by SISU. It's academic if the loan is paid...

How much have we actually improved under TM?

My gut feel is that Mowbray at least sends the team out with the intent to try to win games. Sometimes I got the feeling that SP was more worried about trying not to lose. For all of that I don't think SP was quite as bad as some are saying, but I'd certainly rather have Mowbray.

    Those hoping for WASPs demise

More bars are always welcome I'd say. Drinking in the casino is a soulless experience. As for Wasps succeeding or failing, I still think it's wait-and-see. I suspect that is the club's plan too, given the singular lack of progress on the new stadium. We are where we are, and it's all a lot...

    No this isn't a joke

If this is some sort of attempt to call me a SISU apologist, then you're talking rubbish Hobo, and you know it. I'm pointing out that Wasps haven't been able to give us permanent space for retail, and on that basis I think it's highly unlikely that a deal for the much more serious business of...

    No this isn't a joke

There's no conspiracy here, it's just the simple point that Wasps aren't going to give us anything, and they are clearly a hard-headed commercial organisation in it for themselves. What tires me out is the pretence from many here that it is somehow different - that we only need to ask Wasps for...

    No this isn't a joke

The evidence here is that the club have asked for permanent space, and Wasps have knocked us back. It's a bit of a leap to say this is down to the club solely - if Wasps are so keen to have us as partners, as is oft claimed here and elsewhere, surely this would be a simple enough request to...

Which distracts not a jot from my point here. Our merchandise is crap, given. That isn't linked to the fact that we've asked Wasps for permanent space and haven't got it.

    No this isn't a joke

Permanent space. That's what the club say they have asked them for. Wasps don't seem to be able to meet their requirements. Do you think this bodes well for coming to an agreement on say revenue streams? It just makes me laugh how many people say that we just need to ask Wasps for stuff and...

    Latest PSB bulletin

Why did they make the disastrous decision to move us to Sixfields against our fans wishes? A: Apparently because the original Ricoh deal was unsustainable. Also, because they don't care about the fans wishes. This, of course, is precisely the same as Wasps' owners - I look forward to PSB...
