if mowbray gets the job one of the first things he should do is

I'm in a bad mood today too, and this isn't helping. If he's a crap coach, then get rid by all means. However the evidence to me would seem to suggest that he's actually pretty reasonable at improving goalkeepers. I don't see any acceptance of mediocrity hereabouts, other than perhaps by our...

Club aims to raise £35m from bond

Yep - as someone else has said, if you lent me £35m I could claim to be the richest man on the forum (apart from Torchy and Grendel, obviously). ;) However, I don't think it would really be true. And Torchy's old money anyway - all inherited and completely loaded, but still wears a scruffy...

Club aims to raise £35m from bond

I guess the point is that the owner is off the hook for at least ten million pounds - and it gives them a bit of a lift short term. It also takes away the risk that the Council are forced to pull the plug on the ACL loan as the result of SISU's court battle. From that point of view the owner...

    Meeting with new backroom staff

I've got a bridge that I haven't been using for a while now, too. :)

Club aims to raise £35m from bond

I can't believe the council would buy up Wasps bonds - it would be an absolute scandal, surely. It would have to come out too, I think, it isn't the sort of thing that you could do under the table. After the Icelandic bank fiasco, I doubt there's an appetite for this kind of risk at local...

    Leon Clarke

Yes, for me. I don't expect much loyalty from players these days, so I don't get too disappointed when they follow the money - conversely we don't treat players that we don't want particularly well so it cuts both ways. He's a proven goalscorer, despite being a bit of an arse by all accounts...

    New stadium meeting with RBC

SBT you could well be right on the airport thing, either way it always seemed a daft idea to me. As for the stadium, I'd entirely accept that SISU haven't put anything like a compelling plan together for it yet and I've absolutely no evidence that it would be Lawford Heath even if they were...

    New stadium meeting with RBC

In truth I always thought the airport was planned for around Lawford Heath, where I worked for a while. That's a mile or so off the A45, near the old RAF Church Lawford base. Unlike Church Lawford (the village) that's a good few miles from the Avon and I don't remember us ever suffering from...

    Election 2015

Indeed, although they're probably not as worried as the people needing to feed themselves from foodbanks because the 'irreplaceable' talent from the financial banks wanted to take crazy gambles to make themselves even richer. Still, it's not like a little austerity isn't good for the soul, eh...

    New stadium meeting with RBC

On that note, I'd love to see CCFC in the championship, with a stadium in the city, and Wasps playing on the same day at the Ricoh. Guess who I think would have to give away the most free tickets. ;)

16/1 on SkyBet to win League one in 2015/16

16/1 is piss-poor value for L1 champions, based on where we currently are. That's why bookies drive big shiny cars, I guess. :)

    New stadium meeting with RBC

They did need each other NW, when the council owned the Ricoh. Now it's sold I think both sides are moving on. We always knew that SISU seemed impossible to deal with, but who would have guessed that the council could be so greasy. It has to put everything else that has gone on, and the...

    New stadium meeting with RBC

There's a lot of sense in this NW, as usual. But I think the game the council played here when selling to Wasps, the simple breathtaking lies that were spouted at the time, might really have broken the relationship. I certainly wouldn't trust them again if I was running the club. Having said...

    New stadium meeting with RBC

Noggin, the thing here is that you're taking your opinion that the new stadium makes no financial sense, and saying stuff like you can't understand the thought processes of those who would disagree. That's a bit of a cheap dig, imho, so I had a cheap one back. As for the meeting with RBC, it's...

    New stadium meeting with RBC

I think that they've sat on it for two years because there was always some hope of getting of the Ricoh. Now that's off the table maybe option (a) suddenly makes sense. I'm always surprised that people don't see how much selling the Ricoh to Wasps has shafted us, imho.

    Talks with Mowbray to continue

I like your plan, but everyone knows that key announcements have to wait until "Bullshit Thursday". It will have to be sorted by tomorrow, or expect to wait another week. :)

    New stadium meeting with RBC

Great post, and that's the key question, OSB, absolutely - is building our own ground worth it? Can I reverse the question though, if it isn't worth it, why would SISU be so obsessed with the idea? Whatever we think of them, presumably they're not in this to lose even more money.

Club aims to raise £35m from bond

I don't think they're all like that for a moment, but they've got to justify it to themselves somehow. They've ignored two key facts that I can see - they had other options to stay in and around London, and they've proposed moving their fixtures to Saturdays (thus impinging even further on...
