Esse = technically brilliant / positionally clueless

Grimes being closely man marked. Interested to see how we cope/adapt.

Been critical of Wolf. Seems very average when I’ve seen him and screams panic signing. So big game for him today. Hoping he proves he can add value.

I’ve called out Frank’s lack of adaptability and preference for certain players before. So I actually see it as a positive he’s been quite bold today. Having said that I worry about the creativity of the midfield three. Lot of reliance on the front three to be on form.

Dropping both CB’s?! Brave but a good call I think……

Surely someone on here is sad enough / with their kids and have been to see the players come in. Any sign of Frank (the new one)?

No chance he’ll drop Grimes, he’s very much Lampards man, and as long as isn’t playing has a third CB and has remembered how to pass, he’s incredibly influential to how we play. Interesting who comes in for EMC; Sakamoto is left footed but I still believe him and MVE on form is one of the best...

    Fan zone

I was a bit disappointed last time I went; same limited beer choice at every bar and a queue for a drink each time too. The previous two times I was impressed; better beer selection and quick service. Hopefully it returns to that level on Saturday!

I’m a big Torp fan - always have been as I enjoy watching technical players. But he can’t start on Saturday, not sure if he’s not fit or lacking confidence, but I can’t watch him hiding for a whole game, again.

    Transfer Rumour Jahnoah Markelo

This thread is brilliant. I have learned nothing about Markelo, but I’m fully engaged in this mental argument.

    Transfer Rumour Frank Onyeka

Good signing on paper. Certainly gives us options. Intrigued how Lampard is going to make it work. He isn’t going to drop Grimes, and I don’t think he’ll want to revert to two deep 6’s. So we lose one of the more “offensive” midfielders (Torp, Rudoni) to accommodate both Frank and Grimes...

    25/26 January Transfer Window

Transfer thread, deadline day…..and it ends up with criticism of JDS - showing a massive unawareness of how we play - and YMH - based on all those times we’ve seen him play for us. Still, great to see JDS is still firmly a boo boy and we have a second lined up too.

    25/26 January Transfer Window

It’s clear we need support in the middle and Onyeka seems to fit the bill for helping us defensively. Esse will add value to the team and while the jury is still out on Yang, at the very least he gives us depth. However, can’t help but feel disappointed if that’s all we get in. Biggest chance...

Match Thread Queens Park Rangers - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 31st Jan

This place will be carnage tonight and deservedly so. Wheels are well and truly off. Results, tactics and performances are massively poor.

Not unhappy with that side. Eccles will do more of a job covering the space and defensively than Torp. It takes some creativity away, but there’s enough across the front four (if all on form) to still be an offensive threat.

Big test of character for the players and Lampard et al today. Win today would be a much needed boost for momentum and confidence.

    Let’s have some calm

I understand the call for calm, and I agree things are still in our hands - just. However it’s also understandable why fans are concerned; team performances have been poor, individuals well under par, constant failure to adapt our tactics and style of play, players preferred regardless of form...

Lampard definitely pissed off - good. Hope the players felt that too, too many under par and weak performances.
