I agree. It may be a tinpot cup to some, but in the grand scheme of things for us as a club it is absolutely massive. Like you say, lose and the whole season will collapse like a pack of cards. Survival is now a long shot, but a Wembley trip and a cup final could be such a confidence booster...

Yep! Get your arses up there. In two years time we might be non-league, we might even be a non-entity. One last grasp of a Wembley final and a trophy. We should all totally and utterly embrace that I reckon. Surely just being a fan of Coventry City and wanting to win a game of football should...

Well I am so looking forwards to Tuesday and I really can't wait. Could be a great night, a big crowd, with a trip to Wembley on the cards. Personally, I can't see by any fan would not want that. Bring it on!!!!!

How do we get out of this mess

Well yes, but a mixture of things all the same. 1. They caught everyone on the hop last year. Fantastic work rate, will to win and desire. Once they started winning their confidence was sky high and that can take you a long, long way. 2. Last season Morgan and Huth were allowed to manhandle...

How do we get out of this mess

I do think we feel sorry for ourselves, certainly when a goal goes in. Heads drop. :(

Yes, agree. Talking more in terms of those who probably never go or aren't really City fans at all, but pretend to be. I worked with someone for a few years and then in 1987 and us going to Wembley I suddenly discovered they were a City fan. I wonder why they never, ever mentioned it before.

How do we get out of this mess

What Leicester have in abundance is energy and passion and a never say die attitude. That can take you a long way. Their tactics have been countered this season, but you can still see them working so hard for each other every game. If we had a bit more if that instead of feeling sorry for...

I don't see the problem myself to be honest. I don't think NOPM works, but if that is what people want to do that is their choice. However, if they then decide to go to Wembley and we win, might that not them encourage them back to the fold, get their passion back for it and get them coming to...

Self satisfaction and a feeling of superiority?

You sure you not getting your 'r's and your 'c's mixed up? I thought he has looked particularly poor for the most part.

No, I agree. I like Clarke and Beavon. Rawson seems okay, but is seemingly another Willis (maybe we were expecting Willis to go). I haven't seen enough of Foley yet. Guess we don't know on Sordell if we had to sell him or not.

Don't think Slade has had any choice in some games though, such as Checkatrade Trophy matches and on Saturday when there was no-one else available.

TM had a clean slate at the start of the campaign. Slade came in with us already in the bottom four. Slade Has failed so far, but the two situations are world's apart.

Personally I would say that Clarke is far, far superior to Turnbull. Turnbull has very little strength about him and no command at all. Clarke much better to my mind

Maybe they weren't available, but you would have thought there would have been, because Slade seemed to get players in very quickly and easily after taking charge.

Match Thread Coventry v Millwall Match Thread - Saturday 4th Feb

As I said on another thread, Burge heads for near post to a corner that is hit very deep.

    Russell Slade

Thing is, league games are more important if you believe you have any chance of staying up. If you accept we are down, the cup game is much more important. You also have to remember that a number of first teamer's will be missing for Tuesday. No Clarke, Foley, Rawson, Willis, Vernam.

Yep, hope so too. Then we will have rickety old Ricketts in charge.
