He probably realized very quickly that the 15% retained by SISU was a toxic 15% and in order to deal effectively and honestly with almost anyone in the area, he needed their name gone.

I do wonder if King's 'bid' for the stadium was made because a) He needed to be seen to do so to appear genuine re his intentions for the club. b) To throw everyone off the scent of any connection with MA and himself.
