Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

I think we're about find out - it's that old saying about it's worth what someone will pay for it. In fairness, it's not just the bricks and mortar, it's also the lease for the Casino and the Hotel etc.., so there's some money in that somewhere you'd fancy. I couldn't even guess what it will...

Might well not be worth the £35m, Nick, but the bondholders will want to recover what they can for it. Hence it inevitably being sold to someone, and us getting new landlords. As said many times elsewhere, imagine if someone came in now, bought us and the stadium and tied it all back...

So just joining the dots here from the bond prospectus, to see where the council comes in etc.. Wasps Holdings (now in admin) are the 100% owners of ACL. ACL (not in admin) are the 100% owners of ACL2006. ACL2006 (not in admin) are the holders of the head lease (250-years). Wasps Holdings...

"Traditional home"? But everyone, without exception, who tried to justify Wasps moving here, said they were 'nomadic'. I'm sure their Coventry based fans won't mind if this happens, eh. It's obviously necessary for the club to survive...

Nuts to that, Pete. I'm being buried in my car along with all of my money (*both* pounds), and all of my earthly possessions. I've asked my wife if she's ok with being buried alive with me, so she can serve me in the afterlife, but she doesn't seem very keen. 😁

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Yep. The point I was trying to make though is that Wasps wouldn't be telling players to look elsewhere if they thought there was any chance of avoiding adminstration. Sounds like they've accepted the inevitable now.

Yes he did, and Reid had the bottle to face down the CET and subsequently expose all this at his employment tribunal. It painted both the council and the CET in a shockingly bad light, and frankly I wouldn't trust either organisation further than I could spit a rat.

Madness to reply to yourself, I know, but I've just rewound and listened again and they are definitely talking about Wasps. Exact words: "... The players have been told they can look for other opportunities"

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

On the BT rugby show tonight, they are saying that Wasps players have been told that they are free to look for other clubs. Now it could be that they're confusing it with the Worcester issue but if that's really the case then it has to be game over for them in terms of administration.

Fair question, but I don't think they can stand in the way of any sale, because the bondholders have the first charge on it. Either side could go to the courts if they wanted to of course, but from what I've read elsewhere courts tend to back the party with the charge or mortgage against the...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Personal opinion, Pete, but everything I've read suggests the bondholders (who have a first charge on it) get the lease or at least the administrator gets to sell it to pay them. So I don't think CCC will get much of a say in it this time. This could be a good thing!

Are we better off because Wasps have gone bump?

Possible, but I'm not sure. The bondholders want 35m and they are first in line. Then it's HMRC. There might be that kind of money in the stadium lease if it's sold, but if Richardson had those kind of funds and that kind of desire, I would've thought he'd have stepped up by now and avoided...

Are we better off because Wasps have gone bump?

Well never say never, but to do that they're going to have to find investors with somewhere north of 50-60m to settle all the debts and pay off the bondholders, and they'll have to step up before administration is entered if they want to be sure of being a Premiership team next year. Given...

Not just Wasps pressuring the CET to pull negative stories. The council also squashed things like the arena bailout story by threatening to withdraw advertising. I'd be very surprised if they didn't have a hand in suppressing anything negative about their pet Wasps project too.

Irish heritage here too, and I've got to say that I really don't care for that song. I'll be honest and say that I didn't know the full history of it, but then neither will a lot of people, so they are going to find it distasteful. My personal opinion is that if nothing else the demographics...

Are we better off because Wasps have gone bump?

Better, to my mind. Even if we remain stuck as tenants to a new landlord, we'll be the primary tenant. That's got to give us some negotiating power when the lease does comes up. And there's a chance, maybe a slim one, but a chance that this brings us to the attentions of someone who can move us...
