I worked with a number of Sunderland fans for many years here in Coventry. Not one of them ever mentioned that match or discussed it at all with me. Had lots of chats when we beat them 6-1 though. ;) Must be something in the air up north for those up there to still be so bitter.

It's facing the wrong way. Looks like it was heading out of town. Therefore you would have expected it to go straight across the island.

You're right. I was there too and had no idea what was going on that night. I was urging our team forwards to go and try and win the game. I was right under the scoreboard so couldn't see the scoreboard, so the whole thing baffled me at the time. Of course it was wrong. No-one has ever denied...

Depends if he's talking about a town that has a plethora of prisons. If it's a place that has a dozen prisons or so then I would think the likelihood is much greater and he has a vaild point.
