OK break it down for me. Walk through your ideal scenario. You don’t vote Labour because Starmer isn’t doing as much as you’d like. Let’s say you’re so convincing everyone who feels Starmer isn’t doing as much as they’d like joined you and also didn’t vote Labour. What do you think happens...

Match Thread Coventry City - Millwall FC Match Thread - Sunday 11th Feb

Got to be honest. Don’t feel right slagging off names club employees on here outside of players and the board who are well compensated.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Yes. When things have been consistently getting worse for 14 years, then getting even a bit better is good. I really really don’t get this. You’d rather they got worse so that they might get even better in the future maybe? This is a sequencing issue for me. You want to change politics voting...

    Brexit Benefits

Brexit destroying the Tories would honestly make it all worthwhile.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I mean I won’t be sad if fewer children grow up in poverty, no. As I said before I think the disconnect is seeing voting in a GE as either a statement of your values, or a binary choice in direction. There is no magical third option where everything is gumdrops and rainbows. And when there was...

Who said anything about a “win for Starmer” if child poverty decreases 1% that’s a win for children.

Not as well as Rishi!! To be clear I’ve said I could and should pay more to sort the country out, but the feeling that once you got beyond normal PAYE type salaries the same rules don’t apply seems valid.

The whole point of the Godden ban was he fooled the ref. That’s what the ban was for. The stupid rules are stupid: if it’s a red card or pen because you fooled the ref it gets overturned and you get banned. If its anything else and the ref misses it you can get retrospective action. But if its...

Apropos of our earlier discussion @CCFCSteve Fag packet maths and my payslip suggest Sunak is paying about 22% of his income as tax and I’m paying closer to 40%. Surely something simple like CGT reform raises tax with little impact on the average person?

Finance is the real brain drain in this country. We take some of the worlds best minds and put them to work getting Joe Q Billionaire another 0.1% on his investments.

Funny name for a Tory tho so I’ll let it slide. (is she the one Evan Davis took apart over fiscal rules?)

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I’m not at all convinced by brain drain as a phenomenon outside of extremes TBH. We lose far more talent because our wages are shit and our country is unlivable than we do because of tax rates.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

The problem with this “policies are popular” is this in isolation everything sounds great but then when you add it all up voters start asking about money and even now have this irrational belief Labour generally overspends and the Tories don’t. It’s maddening but it really is the biggest blocker...
