Yeah, exactly. As I said before, had the kick gone forwarded the ref would have penalised McNulty, but it was a quick free kick backwards. You would only see a ref enforce that if the forward is standing right over, or next to the ball.

Yep, that argument being bandied about, but when a player is passing backwards like that from a free kick you never see a ref make the forward go back 10 yards. Had Clarke hit it forwards it would have been retaken. You often see refs make a player retreat 10 yards, but that is when the ball...
