sorry but its a PR game again! no chance of ricoh return

Could you please tell us what new evidence has come to light regarding the JR that will cause sisu to win this time?

Coventry City owners invite council to talks over Sky Blues returning to Ricoh Arena

Well I'm just assuming that common law with regard to a leaseholder would still apply. Such as if you lease a factory premises the landlord has no say over your business. My understanding is Acl are free to do whatever they please with the stadium providing it doesn't affect the building itself?

For once I agree with you! Putting aside and existing feelings towards Sisu or the Council, the best thing for CCFC is to own the leasehold.

Acl legally control all such activities. Freehold effectively buys you a building that you cant do anything with.

Plenty manage without. Freehold generates no revenue.

    Club statement: truth edit

The freehold won't give any revenues until 2050. What good is that to the club?

But the statement has said they need the Freehold. I've yet to see anything that convinces me that will be any good for the club.

Coventry City owners invite council to talks over Sky Blues returning to Ricoh Arena

Surely if the council get a valuation done it signifies they want to sell? Once someone knows you want to sell they put in derisory bids. Much in the same way that if you want to sell a player you tell everyone he's not for sale. I would hope all of us want the Coventry taxpayer to get the...

Loss making? How much of a loss is ACL making then and how much has it lost during its 8 year life?

Coventry City owners invite council to talks over Sky Blues returning to Ricoh Arena

Where have I said I want acl to do that? All I said was legally sisu could own the freehold but acl could still charge the club to play there.

Coventry City owners invite council to talks over Sky Blues returning to Ricoh Arena

Why would you want sisu to own the freehold? Just so you can cheer when sisu's accounts are released (18 months late) like a true fan? Meanwhile Ccfc continues to lose millions.

Coventry City owners invite council to talks over Sky Blues returning to Ricoh Arena

Can you explain how owning the freehold will benefit the club?

Coventry City owners invite council to talks over Sky Blues returning to Ricoh Arena

Basically because all of the money is in acl. This will stitch sisu up good and proper. It is my belief that they want both the freehold and acl. Sisu are just trying to look reasonable, when we all know their real agenda. The freehold makes no money, the leasehold does. Acl pays nothing...

Les Reid - still at it !

Yes. Mainly because OSB on here had already found it out, pointed it out to Led Reid, who about a week later did a half arsed story about what OSB had found whilst claiming it as his own exclusive.

Coventry City owners invite council to talks over Sky Blues returning to Ricoh Arena

That article specifically says freehold to the stadium. Not the land around it. Simple answer is the council sell the freehold of the stadium and surrounding car parks, whilst retaining the land on the other side of the railway and a444

Coventry City owners invite council to talks over Sky Blues returning to Ricoh Arena

I agree. I've actually changed my mind on this now. The council should call their bluff. Agree to sell them the freehold but not acl. The freehold on its own is worthless for the next 50 years anyway. Sisu owning the freehold will do nothing to adversely affect acl or the councils...

Coventry City owners invite council to talks over Sky Blues returning to Ricoh Arena

So, sell them the freehold. What is then to stop acl insisting the club pays £1.2m a year rent to play there, and not a penny less?
  18. bigfatronssba

    Can anyone Explain this?

Sorry, now I get what you mean. Well assuming we were back at the Ricoh, I think we would have enough to get out of League 1. After that I think crowds would be high for the first few games back in the Championship. Get off to a good start and you keep those fans. CCFC has been in decline for...
