    League Two Predictions

This was a fun tool to play about with the results. Football is obviously unpredictable so it’s just that, fun. However, you have our GD at +31?! You’re quite the optimist! That’s more or less winning every game 2-0 from now! I think we’ll finish on 80-84pts at the minute. 5 wins and 2 draws...

I think Vincenti does a lot of dirty work that doesn’t get the credit it deserves. He’s not an out and out winger (nor is Shipley), but I think he’s decent at linking up down the wing, is good in the tackle and makes some intelligent clearances that leads to counter-attacks. As we seen in...

I don’t think Robins’ is particularly loyal to any player per se — he seems to select the best players at his disposal at any given time. The four best midfielders available to us are; Bayliss, Kelly, Doyle and Shipley. It would be perfect had Bayliss worked on the wing, but it didn’t. Vincenti...

I didn’t word it clearly, but that’s the last 8 home games! My bad!

The main thing was for Wycombe not to win that fixture, and thankfully they didn’t. We have that all important game in hand, which is setup to be a ‘must win’ for us. In reality, there’s plenty of points still to play for — if any team in the top 7 takes 19-21 points, they’re probably going to...

A win at Newport was always a big ask. At home, they’ve not been beaten by anyone on the top 7. So it was a decent result. It hasn’t cost us anything because results went our way, and we’ve closed the gap on Exeter. In the next 3, I think we need 7pts, wins v Yeovil and Crawley, and a draw at...

    Shipley

Agreed. Also, who would be more likely to make an impact off the bench against tiring defenders? Reid or Shipley? Reid, by the sounds of it (I personally weren’t convinced against Luton, the last game I went to), has put in some good cameos of late. But, he probably needs to get a couple more...

    Accrington

Me neither, it’s almost as if it’s a bad thing for the likes of Stockport, Yeovil, Burton, Grimsby etc. to get promoted to the Championship. As if it’s too much of a strain on them. I know it’s a different sport, but the murky side of Rugby Union that it’s common for teams to ‘ensure’ they...

    Accrington

To think last season they were a mediocre midtable team. I think they’ll end the season on 99-101pts and help us on our run to the automatics!

I think the catalyst has been the way we approach games. After the 3 game skid, we had to act or we risked missing out on even the playoffs. We appear to be more attacking of late and getting first half goals. I think JCH is a factor, so too is Bayliss. Both of them offer outlets for goals. JCH...

Indeed, however, both teams have a significantly difficult run-in compared to us. Lincoln have to play; us, Carlisle and Accrington (all away) and Wycombe at home (hoping they win that assuming Wycombe are still the team to beat). Whilst Notts County have to travel to Accrington, also having us...

I really think Ponti needs to be put back into the U23s. Boost his confidence, and let him develop properly. The longer he goes without scoring a league goal, the worse it is for him I think. That probably means bringing Beavon back into the fold — perhaps a good option at this point of the...

Considering Burge made a ‘world class’ save, and Hyam made a really good goal line clearance... I think Newport will be thinking we’re very average too. They’re a solid team at home, and it might not be pretty, but clearly it’s effective.

That’s harsh on Newport. They’re a very good outfit at home, and it’s reflected in three stats; no team in the top 7 has beaten Newport at home (still have Accrington to play at home), they’ve lost 3 games at home all season and they’ve got the most set-piece goals in the league. Considering...

    Crowd for Monday

Yes! I’ve just looked at the form table, we’re 2nd at home over the last 10. Our record is 6-1-1, dropping points to Accrington and Luton. This has to be another 3pts, nothing else is acceptable. Hopefully another 3 or 4-0 result!

I like the idea of Biamou as an impact sub more than as starter right now. We should use him in that capacity for the rest of the season. I definitely think JCH’s arrival will push Biamou’s performances. Competition is only a good thing.

I made two accumulators, one with Cov to win, and basically results to go our way. And, another which was 'realistic', Shrewsbury lost to Rochdale and Preston (in betting, my 'lucky' team) lost to Sheffield Wednesday - had it gone through I'd have won £800. I always get so close.

In hindsight, starting with Reid may have made more sense because Newport play 5-3-2 and our original midfield 4 are all centre midfielders - so quite narrow. Whereas, typically, having an overlapping full back (Haynes) and a direct pacy winger (Reid) would cause a bit more problems, and I...

Another unpopular figure, but a brilliant manager for the Championship. Steve Evans is a pound shop Neil Warnock, mega twat, his 'squeaky Robins rant' is case and point. But, he knows how to get teams promoted - look at Mansfield after he's gone! We probably wouldn't have went down last season...

You do know they lost today? They've been far too inconsistent of late. A win v Yeovil and I think we'll move into 4th. I'm happy with a draw, especially considering that we went 1-0 down and Newport's home record. But, we can't perform poorly in the first half like that against Notts County.
