Think if anybody using the Allardyce link as an excuse then it is the Hoffman camp. If Allardyce not a problem, then why have all his alleged investors pulled out? If it's the privacy thing, we still don't know who they are about from Ken Bruce, so not much of an issue, and what do they have...
