Fans Support of Andy Thorn: A sign of just how far we have fallen?

I was making a similar point last week when somebody was going on about lowest wages, no transfers etc. Said we as well not bother then, and just have every club post their turnover and wages at the start of the season, and give the league positions based on that. Would save a lot of hassle.

Fans Support of Andy Thorn: A sign of just how far we have fallen?

His "vision" of appointing Coleman when we had signed these players and more, resulted in us finishing one point better off than the previous season and with ever declining crowds and income(Not his, I add) Everybody was always going on about what a hard-headed businessman Ranson was, and would...

Fans Support of Andy Thorn: A sign of just how far we have fallen?

Funny how the people who had the RR/SISU combination as 2 halves of the same coin suddenly seem to think that they operated totally independent of each other. Both RR and SISU lying toe-rags, can't understand the people who find Ranson blameless when he has managed to trouser a fortune and left...

I'll match you and raise you a Sawyer, Sears and Stead. Maybe he just didn't have much luck with the letter S?

Ranson "categorically" said a lot of things at fans forums. None of them true though.

    SISU Are To Blame For...

Frankie from X-Factor Actually if they really are, then I'm going to make the biggest Fuck-Off SISU flag ever seen. Some things are beyond redemption.

    Joe Murphy

He's been okay, certainly much bigger problems in the team than the goalkeeper.

Fox and Dann, there is some doubt as to who scouted them. Certainly the SISU lovers liked to say that they were Ranson/Thorn signings, though am sure that Tim Flowers said they were down to him and Dowie, and heard nothing from Ranson to say otherwise. Players such as Baker, Bell, Clingan...

West Ham sold 6200, this seasons Leeds?

I hope they're this seasons Leeds.

    Why no minutes silence?

True enough, been a lot of romanticising of the Armed Forces in the last few years, something that most who serve don't massively appreciate. All the "Our lads", and "Our brave Boys" stuff all a bit cloying, and Remembrance Sunday often seen as an excuse by idiots to spot who isn't wearing a...

Westwood and Gunnar? What about all the rest of the players then?

Thorn should at least be sacked as scout then?

    Reid; Adams; Dowie; Coleman; Boothroyd

Mifsud got 17 in a season for us

    Reid; Adams; Dowie; Coleman; Boothroyd

Sure, but the point is that he wasn't an AT-type with zero flexibility. He kept what he wanted, was allowed to strengthen what he had. That's an important consideration given where the club is now. How could he have been allowed to strengthen what he had if sacked before the new players brought...

    Reid; Adams; Dowie; Coleman; Boothroyd

He had Dann and Fox available for about 2 games after signing them before he was sacked(Pretty much straight after a 4-0 defeat of Barnsley at home), and we were in the last 16 of the FA Cup, after beating Blackburn away 4-1 in the third round. Not forgetting beating Man Utd away 2-0 that...

    Reid; Adams; Dowie; Coleman; Boothroyd

So why, with all of Dowies "deadwood" gone, and with apparently so much more superior players since, have successive managers not managed to get as good results as Dowie achieved? Think you're actually recommending Dowie without realising it.

    Reid; Adams; Dowie; Coleman; Boothroyd

Thought Dowie did very well for us, and hardly a groundswell of opinion from the fans calling for his head. Another Ranson mistake. Remember when we used to score goals?

    Block 15 Drum

Not really an issue for us, just hope that the Southampton fans don't make too much noise when they score, as could really do with the rest to be honest.

Time for a change of luck

Not forgetting the "luck" we had when we got the non-penalty against Derby, without which we would probably have two points less, and only one win all season. The Juke penalty miss keeps being brought up all the time as if our whole season would have been so much better if only he'd scored it...

"There was no hope left. No one even shouted at the players"

This has been the problem all season: "Patience is a virtue, it is often said, but it is a wasted one if the ball doesn't cross the halfway line. Much of Coventry's first-half possession, though, was strung out between Clingan and the back four" Possesion without intent, is pointless, which...
