What is the point? Refs call all the throw ins/corners etc anyway and VAR calls offside. Are they just there to get their steps in?

The touch thing makes no sense. If O’Hare had stood balancing the ball on his foot waiting for Haji to be onside then flicked it are we saying it is offside cos the “touch” started when he’s offside.

The only image where he might possibly be offside is that random VAR fan account on Twitter. And even then there’s questions about which frame he’s used and the lines he’s drawn. Which is why it would be nice to get confirmation from the FA on exactly what image was used for the call.

They really don’t. Do you listen to them on iFollow? Some of them are more biased than the average match thread on here.

Also the rules that do seem OK: players go off if pretending to be injured, six second rule, proper added time, seem to get dropped almost straight away.

Has there been an effective rule change that made the game better and was clearly understood since the pass back rule?
