    O’Hare’s goal

It’s more likely Thomas would’ve done well for us in League 2. I’m surprised he got a move to QPR because he hasn’t done anything of note since he left us. Then again, most of us, including myself, expected Ben Stevenson would have got more game time in League 2. We did well to get 500k for him.

It’ll be interesting to see what will happen when we take the lead in a game. The early sign is that we’re continuing our doggedness when going a goal behind. What we need to prove is that we can hold onto to our leads when we eventually get them.

Realistically, we’re probably going to lose more games than we win this season. We’re one of, if not the youngest squad in the league. On top of that, we have next to no Championship experience aside from McFadz and Allen. It’s a given we’re going to drop points through naivety. The QPR game...

We have four in the league, which is a good start. Thankfully, our role players really contributed last season, but after Gooden, our top goal scorer in the league was Shipley with 5 goals. My point is that we have a largely unchanged system and personnel to last season, and because we didn’t...

Agreed. But, there is a pressure for him and COH to get more goals this season because we don't have a lot of goalscorer's in this team.

Describing it as 'men v boys' when we won is a strange way of putting it. QPR's game management wasn't good at all. They controlled the game in the same way MK Dons did in the season opener; dominating possession without creating meaningful chances. When they went 1-0 up, they lost the lead...

Hopefully another 3 points for us! Would be nice to do a job on Chaplin and Thomas. Nothing personal, just playing ex-players spices it up a little bit.

    An humble apology

He’s had a lot of chances this year already so it’s about time he tucked one away. If we can get about 10 goals from the CBs, it’ll put us in very good stead.

    GOD

Walker will eventually be a starter. I still maintain that we could probably play 2 up front in the current setting. A potential negative of our setup is that, judging from last season, there aren’t many goals in that team. Our midfielders and WBs need to chip in with more goals from open play...

    An humble apology

I think the last 3 seasons have shown us to just trust MR and his team’s judgement on things. He’s earned that right.

    Whats left then

Agreed. I do think Hilßner will play a role there when he’s up to speed. Jobello and Jones (before his injury) could have an impact there. Especially since we’re hitting teams on the counter, someone with Jobello’s pace could be v effective - so we should definitely consider a winger if there’s...

First two home games live on Sky too. When has that ever happened in the past? In the prem maybe? Either way, I’m probably too young to remember!

It didn’t really cross my mind at the time because I’m in the moment. Looking at the replays, it was a shambles from their point of view. QPR carrying on as a defensive liability, 25 games conceding 2 or more goals. Correct. Equally, no one was even looking where he was, and had no chance of...

    Hamer’s corners

Hoping we address that sharpish. The positive of conceding two similar goals early on is that it’s something we can address right away.

First goal, no QPR player had any idea where Gooden was, their LB drifted completely in to mark no one. Second goal, Dabo is penned in by 3 players, and somehow gets past all of them, the cross takes a lucky bounce but their defence is completely open for O’Hare to score. If we conceded those...

    Hamer’s corners

Since Hamer has come in, we’re actually making first contact from set pieces and making chances. It’s going to get us a lot more points in 50-50 games where we pick up a win or a draw. This is something we were badly missing in the last 3 season under Robins.

Their defending was very poor. Overall, we defended well, but we didn’t deal with another far post corner and conceded a stupid penalty. Take the positives, but we’ve conceded a lot of stupid goals already this season - all 5 goals in our last 3 games were silly. 3 penalties conceded in 4 games...

For real? Even when we were penned in, they didn’t create a clear cut opportunity. After the second half, we were by far the better side. Defensively, QPR looked all over the shop - our two open play goals were pretty soft and we should’ve scored before McFadz winner. EDIT: even their manager...

O’Hare for me. That goal was a brilliant way to top off a great performance! Really happy with that performance! Showed a lot of character to pick ourselves up after such a slow start and to go a goal down. Hamer was class in the middle of the park, supplying a good range of passing, setpiece...
