Remember when we were top of The Premier League

If I remember correctly I believe 1977/78 was our best sustained start in the top flight. We were top 3, I think, until end of November when we went to Everton and got thumped. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    League One - journalist predictions

How many notts players (and manager)) did he think should have been sent off in the second leg? Or did he conveniently forget his teams misdemeanours? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Absolutely love this.

A proper run football club who have their priorities right. I hope they have a decent season. We saw last year that the manager organises well and gets the most out of his players. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Conor Chaplin - Signing Confirmed (Finally!)

ELB both you and I are better than Wright and Ageyi (and I have had a hip replaced and will be 60 later this year). In all honesty though you are right; this squad is far stronger than the one we were relegated with. One decent goal poacher needed to give us a tilt at a play off place I...

Conor Chaplin - Signing Confirmed (Finally!)

Don’t think it will be Chaplin now. I expect robins to be looking elsewhere and bring in one striker today or tomorrow and another next week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Am I the only one...

Squad looks ok to me. Yes we need a poacher/finisher but otherwise no glaring weak links and cover in most areas. We should certainly break more quickly than we did last year and I think we have greater variety of impact player on the bench. Not sure we are good enough for promotion this season...

    Coventry City 2018/19

I think we will be solid mid table till Christmas with robins going for tight and defensive set ups. Then a push for play offs in new year with more expansive and attacking football Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Coventry RFC Thread 18/19

Makes it impossible for those on the field; players caught up in the game won’t stop to think what ‘tackle’ rules they have to abide by this week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Stomach turning

I agree Clint. Problem though with the right of people to follow a religion unless detrimental to others is that just by their existence they cause division and conflict. Of course if religion didn’t exist there would still be politics, family, nationhood and sport to fall out about. What I...

    Coventry slang/dialect

Don’t think that’s a Coventry thing. More like an Otis family get-together. As for an entry....when I lived in Lancaster back in late 70s no one understood ‘entry’ but used term ‘ginnel’ or ‘jitty’ instead. My mum and gran also used term ‘over Bill’s house’ if there was a chance of rain...

    This Hot Summer

Ideally would Prefer it a little cooler than it has been but still enjoying the weather. I have asthma and the recent weather has made my chest a little tight at times. Love gardening...but everywhere parched. Lawn is almost like straw as I refused to use hose on it. Veg plot doing well (apart...

Lose the Gut Thread (Following on from New Year's Resolution)

Have just got an allotment. Hopefully the clearing, digging etc will provide the all round exercise to shed a few pounds. Also when start growing veg next year will eat healthier too. So should be win/win. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
