Of course it's this lack of critical thinking and deference to those in authority (and I am not claiming it is what is going to happen here or in the US, just that it is a dangerous precedent) that allows dictators to rise and to get their supporters to do unspeakable things on their behalf.

If it was fulfilling a contract I suspect you'd be right but it's internal projects. We're being told it's "critical to the business" that we carry on working so I guess the implication is that if we don't keep working the business fails regardless of what happens with the virus and the economy...
