This is the fundamental issue. We’ve had fifteen years of simultaneously being told we’re dirt poor and can’t afford the basics as a country, and also saying we have to house anyone who comes here regardless of economic impact or housing availability.

This is classic talking past each other. The article says Nick is correct. They get housing and money. Because that’s not UC or PIP or whatever you can say “no benefits” when to any normal person a house and money is a benefit.
