Oddly those that normally cry about virtue signalling for every tiny positive gesture or action people do are now saying “have some respect”.

Exactly this. Why cancel one thing and not others? Just seems a meaningless gesture. A minutes silence, perhaps those who wish could do a few chorus of the anthem during the game, no need at all to cancel when everything else goes on as normal. Moves games on the day of the funeral at most.

It was a very typical home defeat to an away side who did their job then killed the momentum of the game. Frustrating, especially after refs were adding more time last season but this season it seems to have gone out the window.

Income from attendance is a much lower percentage of overall income in the days of TV money and mega rich owners. History or fan perceptions of club size are irrelevant really.

In terms of history and fan base we’re bigger than that but history doesn’t pay the bills. We’re going to be a middling championship club (again). Occasionally we’ll slip up and go down and occasionally we’ll have a good season and flirt with the playoffs. I can’t really see them selling up as...

But we know they’re not going to do that, unless it’s as a loan. Gambling on getting to the prem seems too high a risk even for a hedge fund.
