    Van Ewick Injury

We play with 3 CBs and going into the window we had 1 who is 35/36 - that was clearly the biggest priority. We just have to accept that this process is going to be a 3-5 year thing. We were never going to replace the star quality of Hamer and Gyokeres this window. Overall, our squad is in a...

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

Callum Wilson scored 1 goal in 44 odd games on loan at Kettering. Past performance is not an indicator of the future… you’re only as good as your last game.

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

Robins summed it up pretty well. Poor defensive work and a weak midfield is at fault here. Take out Hamer and Sheaf and our midfield isn’t where it needs to be. It’s no surprise we perked up when Ayari came on. Our midfield just isn’t capable of penetrating organised and structured teams.

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

We don’t have tempo because our central midfielders cannot love the ball quickly. The strikers look ineffectual because they don’t really have anything to work with.

    Signs are looking good

It’s also 7 games into the season so a sample size that isn’t significant at this stage. If last season didn’t teach you that, what will? Our first win of the season was a 23rd v 24th clash and both teams were in the playoff finals. Players will develop/improve and there will be an opportunity...

Check if your car is ULEZ compliant, if it is, you’re laughing! I’m taking the missus to Westfield and the game so hopefully I save hundreds from a shopping spree!

    Simms + Wright = ?

There is something to be said about the midfield and their ability to create chances in open play. If we have Hamer in our team, most of our draws will most likely have been wins and we’re in a far better place.

Why do you think that is? Kelly and Eccles is a pretty weak partnership. Good defensively but going forwards they don’t really offer much. Ayari too was missing the final touches too today. The midfield has to be improved in January.

Match Thread Hull (A) Friday 15th September

Same old issues, we’re not creating chances in open play and the issues stem in midfield. A decent point nonetheless even though it’s frustrating to lose another lead.

I wanted to get two tickets together but was unable to in the Gold tier. Is there a way to return the ticket and repurchase them? I thought we’d sold out already and my brother has 860 points to my 910 so we had different windows.

    players on holiday

Preseason is often the hardest part of the season in terms of training intensity. A few days to unwind and relax will do them no harm, it’s a long old season.

    Ellis Simms Going Forward

He’s in competition with Godden and Wright for a starting berth. So he won’t be an impact sun if he takes his chances. It’s only 5 games in, nothing is set in stone and plenty will change.

Really? They’re number 4, before the calamitous OG stopped 2 guilt edge chances of ours. With Wright’s chance, the GK didn’t save it, it was a block from their number 4.

Our midfield - do we have problems?

I wonder what your thoughts were on the team this time last season? We looked far from being a top 6 team then too. This season, we’ve played Leicester, Middlesborough, Swansea, Sunderland and Watford. Lost once, and with a bit more luck could’ve won 2 or 3 more of those games. Things take...

    Match Thread Watford (h)

It’s a long season and there’s not much value in evaluating teams at this moment. 10 games in is a decent barometer. Why people are panicking is beyond me. MR has been pretty open saying how it’s been a difficult window and wanted to get players in early to work with them. Generally, we start...

    Match Thread Watford (h)

Watford are a good side and a draw is a respectable result. We were the better team in the first half and they were the better team in the second half. We’re making progress, believe it or not.

    Wobbly back 3

That and defensively, both teams were vulnerable today and had bad games as a while. These kind of games just happen, otherwise the defence has been solid.

    Ratings v watford

It looked setup for Sakamoto to play in the box tbf, I thought Godden was going to come off before scoring the equaliser. A great finish and proving why he’s in the team but otherwise had a tough day at the office.

    Ratings v watford

He will be eased into the team, he’s shown some good quality on the ball. I like Eccles and feel like he can get unfair stick at times, but he’s not likely to be a starting calibre top 6 CM (in a two man CM unit) at this stage of his career.
