I think Smith and Cousins are quite similar, except that Smith is a lot more mobile and will give you yards on the ground. Extra string to our bow for me.

    Micheal Doyle - Captain fantastic

Yep agree. Could be a great influence to have around the club.

    Micheal Doyle - Captain fantastic

It just amazes me how every game he seems to be able to last all three forty five minute halves. I think he must be an extra human.

    So where were you all?

Yep and of course many have genuine reasons why they couldn't come last night, but not everyone who stayed away will be because they had work, or it was too far, or they couldn't afford it, or were ill etc. Thousands stay away and they can't ALL have work commitments, or be ill, or be too far...

    Coventry transfer deadline day

So what we probably need is a Geoff Paxman, or Jeremy Foster.

    CCFC v Cambridge Highlights

They did. Obviously noticed that during the game, but you watch on those highlights, immediately after the goal is scored all three in shot just start to trudge off with heads down. There's no immediate jumping up and down and chasing down the ref with hands flaying demanding an injustice...

I am happy with this. Always have liked Smith and he is more mobile than Cousins, which gives us an extra element to our game. Suits me just fine that news.

    Micheal Doyle - Captain fantastic

Yeah, even though the concept doesn't even exist and the very notion of it should very much be in the 'things that annoy me' thread. I'm sure Doyle also works 25/7 and 8 days a week and listens to music on the iPod he has that goes up to a volume of 11 out of 10.

    CCFC v Cambridge Highlights

Interesting in the match thread that some believe Shipley pushed the defender for his goal, yet the 'pushed' defender doesn't even complain about being pushed in that clip and nor do his two fellow defenders around him. Absolutely nowt wrong with that goal at all.

    Story of your life, son.

    Player Ratings vs Cambridge

Glad someone is. I was very hopeful on him, but last time out for me he looked rather lightweight. Stokes does offer some physicality and that I find a bit lacking in Haynes and Camwell.

    Player Ratings vs Cambridge

Stokes started the season sluggishly, then had a spell where he came good and looked back to his old self, but now seems to have gone backwards a bit and looks like he is running through treacle (otherwise known as the Rioch pitch).

    So where were you all?

He's not a Mr. Big anymore, he's now just a henchman and I easily beat him off to get to the big cheese.

    Player Ratings vs Cambridge

Yeah, I believe so. He was given a torrid time in defence, but at least for forwards on numerous occasions with overlaps and one two's between himself and Shipley.

    So where were you all?

I was in the Bahamas on a beautiful sandy beach at 12, making love to a stunning Swedish model at 2, killing Mr. Big at 3.15, waking up at 4.30 and at the Ricoh for around 7. I'm exhausted.

    Player Ratings vs Cambridge

I just think if Stokes and McDonald were so poor (that's half our back four), how did we defend so manfully and manage to keep them at bay for the most part? Even though their number 9 had us chasing shadows at times, I thought we stuck at it, battled away and put in another pretty sterling...

    Player Ratings vs Cambridge

Burge 7 - A good punch and some very decent saves, but he seriously needs to sort out his kicking otherwise he is going to gift another goal away real soon. Grimmer 7.5 - Very good effort from him today and made some vital interceptions. Got forwards well too on occasions. Davies 9 -...

Not joking. I thought it may well have been a pen, but I wasn't 100% on it. You are the home of the sweeping statement. 'Stonewall penalty!' McDonald was abysmal!' I thought it probably was a penalty and thought McDonald didn't have a good game, but he was up against a real handful in their...

Match Thread Coventry City vs Cambridge United Match Thread - Tuesday 30th Jan

Foster has been dreadful tonight. Don't know if anyone else caught it, but early in the second half there was this conversation between Geoff and Clive. Foster: Which club's Davies on loan from? Eakin (puzzled): Eh? Foster: Davies. Which club is Davies on loan from from? Eakin (slightly...

What is it with you and stonewall penalties? I think it might well have been a penalty, but stonewall? You would have had to have been sitting right behind the goal in the away end or in the main stand end block first few rows to be able to have any degree of certainty. It might well have been...
