    Coventry RFC Thread 18/19

Would say that we only need to beat Darlington once to seal it as long as we keep the form going. About right isn't it?

4 sent off for each side and 3 knobbled would be good too.

    The lack of consistency

And for a side consistently in the top 6 it's ridiculous that we can't even pick up draws against some of the teams at the bottom. We should be beating them of course, but if not, we surely should be able to pick up a point in these games. Even that would be considered 2 points dropped, but...

Davies also out for the season

And what about curse of the best player? Andreu and then Jones.

Davies also out for the season

It's a selective curse though and not just a universal, all players covered one, cos Ryan Haynes is still not injured.

And on Saturday, at least Exeter play Wycombe and Mansfield face Swindon. They can't all win, so if we can grab 3 points we will be gaining on at least 2 clubs in those fixtures and obviously 3 on Accrington.

Accrington play Swindon on Tuesday so we will have to keep an eye on that one for sure. Hopefully they will both lose.

Definitely needs a place on the bench from now on in.

Davies also out for the season

Willis and McDonald can cover no doubt, but what if one gets suspended or injured? I think McDonald might well be on 8 bookings. 2 more and he would be suspended.

Devon was holding his hamstring for a good 10 mins before he was subbed on Tuesday, so he must be injured.

Davies also out for the season

Think it's up to 12 weeks out in general. Could well be his season over.

    The lack of consistency

When Doyle and Kelly fill the two middle of field slots we don't create enough. It's that simple. We looked so much more potent the moment Bayliss came into the side and that's because he is more creative.

    The lack of consistency

And we have a keeper who has a few mares too. That just adds more pressure on us. We started to create a lot more when Bayliss came in to the side. Seems a retrograde step now going back to Doyle and Kelly.

    The lack of consistency

But I would say to now be challenging for promotion we need to show consistency and that's that is something we haven't shown all season. Why would we think we can now conjure up some degree of consistency? These home wins are great and we all feel good when we bag the three points, but we...

Yup and both Grimmer and Stokes with hamstring injuries. That points to next week being DKE McDonald Willis Haynes

I don't think they are terrible together, it just nullifies creativity. Bayliss came in and was like a breath of fresh air and I did say in the week that once Kelly was fit again we had a dilemma. If it were down to me it would be an either/or scenario. Doyle and Bayliss, or Kelly and Bayliss...
