What will Appleton's findings reveal ?

I suspect he will conclude that we don't have a pot to piss in and that previous directors sold the family silver to pay for beer and hookers. Just my guess :D

    Players being released; Possible targets

We are the best known name in League One - for all the wrong reasons. There is so much negative press around the club now that no decent player is going to touch us with a barge pole for a very long time. Even if Haskell does come in, buys the stadium and resolves everything we are still gonna...

Because long term, even medium term that would not help the club. FPP was going to ruin us and they had to have control of at least 50% of all the revenue streams from the stadium to stand a chance of complying. The way they have gone about it is totally wrong and what we are left with is a...

    'Highfield Two'

It is perhaps worth pointing out that £400k was only going to be the rent whilst we were in league one and we have only the media reports to go on that said it was £400k, you don't know what other costs and add ons there may have been on top of that. Also it's not just the costs per year that...

It's always on the news about how knackered the high street is, so with that in mind how about they just flatten all the shops in the city centre and just build a stadium there? :D While they are at it they could move the speedway there as well, keep the NIMBYs in Brandon happy, sorted!

Yes that may be the one saving grace. Of course though as the main creditor they could still block the sale to another party by failing to agree to the CVA which would mean another massive points deduction and possibly a very long drawn out sales process.

    Brandon Speedway

It was an odd situation, known to everyone and referred to almost exclusively as the Brandon Bee's but the league officially referred to them as Coventry and published fixtures and league tables in that name.

I think it would probably take some sort of legal challenge to remove him and bring someone else in. i don't know why ACL didn't do that the second SISU appointed him to administer CCFC Ltd. It must have been obvious to everyone that they only did that so they could get a sympathetic person in...

That would all be fine if Appleton could be relied upon to be impartial and just award preferred status to the best bid. I have absolutely no confidence that he will do that, do you?

Baginton is under Warwick council rather than Cov and there could potentially be space there..............

    Brandon Speedway

There was Speedway racing at Lythalls Lane but it was way back when, from 1928-1936. The stadium then converted to greyhound racing in 1937 and remained as such until 1963 when it closed. Some time after that it was demolished and built on. I think Speedway started at Brandon in 1930 but i'd...

Only in recent times, was always the Brandon Bees in the past.

    It seems plain to me........

Fair enough, but I don't see that any of that precludes a sale to Haskell or A.N.Other. If anything it only says to me that Higgs are keen to sell.

    Brandon Speedway

That could work, although the public transport access is no better than the Ricoh.

    Brandon Speedway

More chance of jumpers for goalposts down the park than Brandon. There would be uproar. Difficult to see any stadium that makes sense.
  17. Manchester_sky_blue

    It seems plain to me........

I take that with a pinch of salt. SISU didn't appoint this guy randomly. He is just trying to distance himself to try and maintain at least a facade of impartiality.

    It seems plain to me........

    Exactly my point.

    It seems plain to me........

Unless ACL had new owners, changing the game, which was the point of this thread. Generally though I think you are right, the most likely outcome is that SISU will remain in charge, we will play outside of Cov and the ticket sales will dwindle to almost nothing, placing the club at severe risk...

    It seems plain to me........

To play devils advocate for a moment, what evidence do we have to suggest that Haskell would be any better as an owner? I think more fans would come back to the Ricoh with the club still in SISU control than would go to home games outside of Cov.
