    Oh sorry, misread your post.

Ricoh owned by SISU V No more club

Thing is, how do you insure that the new owners will be better? Unless there is fan ownership involved you could just be exchanging one bunch of crooks for another.

Which is the Phoenix club. 1883 or United

Agree entirely, CCFC is already dead. It died the minute they kicked off at Sixfields

Ricoh owned by SISU V No more club

No, my point is that SISU have consistently demonstrated that they have no interest in the welfare of the club.

    Morecambe

Morecambe have some of the smallest crowds in the league so no surprise that their travelling support can't be arsed to make a 600 mile round trip for a cup game.

Ricoh owned by SISU V No more club

Exactly. If SISU took control of the Ricoh tomorrow and the following day Barrats rock up offering them X-amount of millions to bulldoze the site and build houses on it they would snap their hand off. So long as SISU remain we will never be secure.

Ricoh owned by SISU V No more club

Option 1 for me, the rot is too deeply set in. Needs a fresh start, be that CCFC and the Ricoh both under new ownership or else a phoenix club starting from scratch.

Which is the Phoenix club. 1883 or United

Well strictly speaking, neither. 1883 is still just an idea and United is a new team owned and operated by City fans but is not a Phoenix club in the literal sense. I think that if 1883 gets off the ground it makes sense to combine their efforts with United as they have a team in place already...

Im sure the FL said that the liquidation didnt matter in footballing terms now that the golden share has been moved to holdings. I would guess they will sign off the accounts quite quickly now as thats one less stick to beat them with. As you say though, I dont expect SISU to go out and splash...

    Chris Dunn

As I said above, now that SISU have filed accounts the embargo should be lifted so i dont think we are bound by the one in one out, 75% of the wage rules anymore. Or at least it should be in the process of being lifted.

    Views from Preston

Precisely and thanks for pointing that out. They knew at that time that their club was going and wouldn't be coming back, we however can still cling a to a small hope that City may return to Cov in the not too distant future.

    An idea...

I see where you are coming from but SISU have made it plain that they want total control of the Ricoh and nothing less. I fear that if we were to buy the Higgs share that it would only kill off any chance of a Ricoh return. If the club refuse to come back, what does the trust do with half an...

    Football league toothless

I've seen a few people say that but im not sure. AFC Wimbledon started in the ninth tier, not the very bottom but not far off it. I don't see that we would get much above that as a starting point.

    Football league toothless

Aye I agree with you on that, they perhaps deserve a second chance BUT I still think that if we are forced to start from the bottom of the non-league structure then it just won't be practical to use the Ricoh anyway, assuming ACL would even be interested.

    Chris Dunn

He is talking about Craig Reide who played in our pre-season as a Trialist. Looked reasonably handy too. Haven't heard that he has signed for anyone else and we need CB's pronto so wouldn't be at all surprised to see him come in. Edit: Now that SISU have filed the accounts isnt the embargo...

May I remind you these are the people who gave Roy O'Donovan a contract :D

    Chris Dunn

Doubt Chris Dunn was on a great wage. Expect him to sign for Northampton shortly :) I actually thought he had left earlier in the summer, was he in the bomb squad? Craig Reid in then I would expect.
  18. Manchester_sky_blue

How much does the club mean to the players? Should they strike?

Maybe so, but as I say it depends on the way the contract is written. Many employment contracts are extremely badly written which often makes my job easier :)

    Football league toothless

And screw ACL too? They are not innocent in this. I am starting to wonder if we end up having to go down the route of a new phoenix club whether it wouldn't be better to play somewhere else and make a totally clean break. We could have a more manageable stadium, closer to the city centre and...

So if sisu have the money

If it's truly a common occurrence to file accounts late then why does the league bother to impose transfer embargo's on those clubs that do? If it's not important then why punish clubs for it? Also, I dont understand why we have an embargo placed on us for SISU failing to file accounts, surely...
