Transfer Rumour Raphael Borges Rodriguez signs for Coventry

We can’t have our cake and eat it, we either need to utilise the loan market to bring in that extra quality we need or we sign all our own players. My expectation this season is that we bring in 2-3 loanees to start or at least be competing for the starting berth. More of a Callum Doyle type...

    Summer transfer window 2024

What do you mean exactly when you refer to this ‘acid test?’ The club is increasing its spending on infrastructure and is a loss making enterprise, we need to be realistic on what we can spend. Last season was a real treat because of the windfall we had from Hamer and Vik. Naturally, we’re...

Agreed because Wright is covering two positions, how would the team look if say, Simms and Sakamoto gets injured? I imagine that a loan target will be a winger because we’ve got 3 permanent wingers on the books now.

It was an aversion to loans for one season. Which, given the scale of replacing 17 senior players, is probably a sensible policy. Even then, we signed 2 loan players. This narrative that DK doesn’t like loans has been overblown imo. In Jan, it seemed like we had limited resources to spend. The...

    Summer transfer window 2024

Without referring to the relevant threads, there quite a few people saying how well they’d done and they’d be competing for playoffs and so on. Personally felt a lot of their signings were ‘mid’ considering the sums of money they’d spent. The management situation didn’t help but had their...

I also recall people fawning over Birmingham’s preseason too… It goes to show that, respectfully, us fans do not have a clue. After all, it’s our hobby rather than professional. What I like about our recruitment is that we’re data driven and open to look at new markets. We may not sign all our...

Is it 1 April today ?

The key word being ‘net’. Burnley still had a leading budget for the division so winning the title was not an extraordinary achievement. The litmus test was how Burnley would get on in the Prem and they never looked like staying up. So for Bayern Munich to hire a coach with that record is...

Is it 1 April today ?

Had a lot of money to spend to make that transformation, more than Dyche. In the big leagues, he got 23 points with Burnley this season. It’s got disaster written all over it. A lot of Pep understudies are being touted for big things, but these coaches rarely hit the heights of their mentors...

Transfer Rumour Raphael Borges Rodriguez signs for Coventry

I don’t think he means with their current squad. Both Celtic and Rangers are massive clubs and would be top half Prem teams with the resources of a Prem team. That said, there is an arrogance of Celtic and Rangers that seem to think they’d be at the top table of the league by just being in the...

This isn’t a credible poll so you need not worry about those hypothetical scenarios!

Transfer Rumour Raphael Borges Rodriguez signs for Coventry

It’s the first signing of the summer so I’m not concerned by the lack of experience so far. This signing is strikes me as a development piece, he’s versatile and good raw attributes. With Sakamoto, EMC and Wright filling the wide areas, it’s an area where can afford to pick up a player with the...

    UEFA EURO 2024

None of our KO losses under Southgate have been shameful, quite the contrary. It’s all well and good saying we were too conservative against Italy. Yet, being more attacking could’ve cost NUS more chances and conceded more - you don’t know. Considering they beat Belgium, Spain en route to the...

    The Kase(y) for Palmer

I don’t think we offer him a new contract at the end of next season unless he has a stormer.

    UEFA EURO 2024

We were the top scorers in Qatar before we got KO’d by France and only Italy scored more than us in Euro 2020. No one can really complain about our attacking intent under Southgate at major tournaments. International football has always been more defensive than club football. Every game is KO...

    LIAM WALSH

He peaked under MR’s tutelage and really should’ve stayed when given the opportunity. We’ve got bigger fish to fry than Walsh so for that reason, “I’m out”.

Is that compared to all winger/AMs or everyone in the league? That’s an important distinction. If this is a cheap signing, it’s probably worth making but I’m not overwhelmed. Yet, at 20 he’s a player we can mould and develop into a better player.

I love how there’s this belief that Peterborough would accept Godden or Tavares as a makeweight for one of their players… Neither player fits into their model and in any case, doesn’t improve their team. Their current striker is a 21/22 year old who scored 10 goals last season and Poku is their RW.

He reminds me of Ryan Giles’ form at Middlesborough. Had a storming season with goals and assists but can he consistently deliver those numbers?

    Transfer Rumour Godden

It’s not like he didn’t have chances either, Plymouth away was nearly criminal. He had a good run in August and that’s it. 1 league goal since September sums it up unfortunately. L1 is his level and I’m not so sure it’s at the top end of that level either.

    Transfer Rumour Alan Browne

If PNE are ‘outbidding’ ourselves, Celtic and Sheffield United, the likelihood is that they’re overpaying him significantly because all 3 clubs have more financial resources. In which case, we should move on. It’s not worth it.
