We’re saying the same thing here.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Two questions: 1) Why is Reform overtaking the tories in the polls? 2) Why is Farage so popular among Tory members?

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I’m not calling it right wing, but balanced budgets are associated with ‘small government’ and you won’t get many on the left calling for budget surpluses. It’s contextual Shmmeee, who was calling Blair RW? Certainly not tories but the Labour left.

If Labour can survive Corbyn, I think the Tories could survive Farage. The latter is actually a popular populist and Corbyn had net negative ratings from Day 1.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Blair economically accepted free markets and introduced market reforms in the public sector (education and healthcare) and achieved budget surpluses. So can see why the Labour left brands him ‘right wing’. Balanced that out with increases in welfare spending, so he’d fit in as a One Nation Tory...

Why not? If he gets elected in Clacton there’s every chance. The Tory MPs will be reduced to a rump and he’s a character that is overwhelmingly popular among their membership.

Ask tories how right wing the government is and the answer you’ll get is ‘they’re not’. Part of the reason Reform got to 13% in the polls is the perception that the government is basically ‘social democrat’. I believe Sunak when he says he’s Thatcherite. The economic shocks of COVID and the war...

Mordaunt is odds-on to lose her seat. It genuinely wouldn’t surprise me to see Farage stage a takeover of the tories if the polls get any worst for the tories. Gaffe after gaffe is gifting Labour an easy election.

They said all their plans were funded so if there’s a £40bn black hole, someone at HQ is either lying or terrible at maths.

They don’t have to deal with the consequences of their policies because they won’t be in government. It’s why the minor parties can articulate their policies on these big debates well because no one is interested in scrutinising their program.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Immigration is single top priority for voters so it shouldn’t be a surprise that a party that says they’re willing to address that is surging in the polls. The political class has had over 20 years to address the concerns people have had. There’s been complacency that we won’t experience what...

Apparently Nigel Farage won, Rayner second and Mordaunt finishing 5th. Watched the England game instead of the debates so regretting that now.

Sheaf’s stat wheel shows that in the Championship, he’s the best defensive playmaker in the league - in the 95%+ in a lot of facets in the stat wheel. I’ve not seen Eccles stat wheel but it’s probably not as good as Sheaf’s. The next level for Sheaf and Eccles to improve in the final third -...

    England v Iceland

Surprised Quansah was preferred tbh but in reality, Branthwaite is not a left back and although I’d have taken him, Konsa and Gomez are more versatile options. Dunk will probably start for his aerial ability and experience. Disappointing night but it’s not worth losing sleep over. Iceland...

Didn’t we do the same at Euro 2020? Trippier played LB v Croatia but today he looked awkward.

    UEFA EURO 2024

I reckon Palmer should play 10 and Foden LW. Whichever set up, they’ll all rotate around because they’re all creative players. To support Bellingham at 8, he and Rice played well against France together in a 4-3-3 so that’s an option.

    UEFA EURO 2024

Great future, not convinced it’s his time this tournament and he’s got caught in no one’s land a few times today. Likewise with TAA on Monday. Mainoo is not better than Palmer, Foden, Saka in any case.

    UEFA EURO 2024

Reckon we try to fit Palmer, Foden and Saka in those AM, RW and LW roles. Palmer floating between the lines and swapping with Foden. Eze as a super sub. Bellingham and Rice in the 4 and 8 roles, I’m just not convinced with Mainoo or TAA in CM and it’s too soon for Wharton imo.

    Transfer Rumour Marko Stamenic

£3.5m upfront is a bargain for a 22-year old, 19 goal striker bearing mind he’d score 3 goals in 2023 for us.
