The club realised in the late 90s as to where football was going. Had we not gone down in 2001, HR would've been very restrictive by about 2004.
It was right to look at a new ground, its just how it was managed that was the problem
Our lowest crowd this season was 24.5k (against Blackburn) with only about 1k away fans. A PL fixture would've seen 3k away fans so that would instantly have lifted it to a 26.5k crowd.
That's only 5k off capacity. Not unrealistic at all to expect crowds to rise by 5k
I can’t speak for the 80s, but I remember the 90s and it was no different to now.
When the team tried they were supported and praised.
When they couldn’t be arsed they were booed and criticised
No one likes it
All of us would love Robins to be successful. He will always be a hero no matter what happens.
But we have to face facts that where we are right now isn’t acceptable, and unless something changes (up for people to debate what that change is) we will be relegated
If we lose to Luton then I think it’s time. Not least to protect his own legacy.
If we go down we will be back to where he found us, which means he will have made no significant improvement to the playing side of the club
If I was given £45m to initiate a special project at work and it turned out to be a disaster then I would lose my job. Regardless of how well I’d previously worked
I wish you well with it.
I'm lucky enough to have never needed major surgery, however I've heard that when recovering you're only supposed to do boring things, so attending may aid your recovery?
