I agree I’m just thinking if we’re spending 2-3 m on this guy and EMC, who are unlikely to start, then what could be the strategy. It’s great to be spending money on depth but would expect the starting 11 to be a higher priority.

My guess is he has a lot of potential and will be ear marked to replace Simms next season? EMC for Wright, so maybe a Sheaf or Milan understudy to come in too?

Stoke the thing half the teams in the league do, little niggles and fouls in every battle but then ask for a foul on them and most of the time get it. Players end up scared to make a challenge.

Yeah the bench is a lot better but starting 11 effectively the same. In fairness a starting 11 capable of top 6.

Ref poor and Stoke looking for the foul every time but this has been a reality check.
