The part blend is referring to is not really opinion, more a factual statement. What Sepalla has written clearly points the blame elsewhere as opposed to the judge who stated all sides, including SISU, had no appetite to complete the deal. if you look at what Sepalla has written she is saying...

Equally where is the evidence to support the idea that ACL rejected the CVA for anything other than valid business reasons?

    Joy's Programme Message - Preview

This is a common problem statements coming out of the club / SISU have. They state as fact things pretty much everyone agrees aren't true. There is no need whatsoever for the club to own the stadium, in fact the FL stated at one point that the majority of clubs do not own their own stadium. What...

Ex-councillor Brian Patton to stand v Ann Lucas on Get Cov Back to the Ricoh platform

So what happens to the contracts in place with the casino, hotel, compass etc. Its not unencumbered if those contracts haven't been terminated and thats not going to happen without a financial outlay. In your calculation you also don't make any payment to CCC for their 50% share in ACL yet...

    Exam time

Absolutely correct, as anyone who runs their own business will know you run this risk of losing every penny you put in. Any half decent business owner or investor knows when to admit defeat and walk away rather than keep pouring money in with slim to no chance of a return.

    Misguided/wasted effort

Seems they can manage to protest about having to move seats, shame they can't put any effort into protesting about having to move to Northampton in the first place!

    Fargo

I can't watch this, I find Freeman with an American accent too distracting. Not that he's bad at it or anything just doesn't seem right.

'We'd be better off owning the Ricoh but sisu can't be trusted'?

That's exactly my concern and the only response you ever seem to get is we can't know for sure they will do that so that argument isn't valid. To me that just seems to be burying your head in the sand and hoping for the best. Why risk it when there's solutions that give the same outcome for the...

Ex-councillor Brian Patton to stand v Ann Lucas on Get Cov Back to the Ricoh platform

Sorry, typo, I meant unencumbered freehold. If you think this is achievable can you explain how? As I see it ACL has contracts with various other companies, all those contracts would have to be cancelled and compensation paid for the cancellation. ACL would then have to be wound up, as this is...

Ex-councillor Brian Patton to stand v Ann Lucas on Get Cov Back to the Ricoh platform

Indeed but if we're going to take them at their word on that then we may as well give up all hope of the club ever playing in Coventry again. The unencumbered lease is essentially impossible to achieve, my feeling is SISU know this and that is the reason they have requested it, I don't think...

Seeing as you're the only Coventry fan I've ever know who has access to all Robinsons accounts can you let us know the net figure from all his dealings with the club.

There was definitely charity matches at the Ricoh before we left. And of course there's the Ricoh Arena Community Space project which has been there since the very early days of the stadium.

The rumour has always been, and Robinson has always chosen not to comment on it, that Robinson made a significant amount more out of the club than he wrote off thanks to a combination of interest payments and his cut of profits on player sales. As with much from that era I don't think we'll ever...

'We'd be better off owning the Ricoh but sisu can't be trusted'?

That's exactly why I'd have the council retain the freehold with certain events causing the lease to revert to them. If SISU lost the lease if they attempted to borrow against it they wouldn't be able to secure any debt against our ground.

    Anyway.....Wolves

Have they just been allocated the usual away end or have they got that stand opposite the main stand that's usually closed as well? Would make sense to let them have that to avoid problems.

    Marilyn Knatchbull Hugessen answers questions

The deal as it was originally made was for it to be a short term thing, basically to ease cashflow problems the club was experiencing. It was essentially a pawn broker deal. We'll give you £6m or whatever it was now but we'll hold the share in ACL as security, when you've got the money to pay us...

'We'd be better off owning the Ricoh but sisu can't be trusted'?

For me the middle ground is for SISU to own the lease (essentially own ACL) and CCC to retain ownership of the freehold. Put clauses in the lease that revert the lease back to CCC if there's anything dodgy attempted by SISU. Best of both worlds, club has all the benefit of owning the ground but...
