    John Eustace

He’s probably passing on what his ‘source’ said and his source may not have specified what he meant by saying Eustace interviewed for the job. As I said, the difference between the club talking to him directly or indirectly via representatives is the same thing. When a club approaches a...

    John Eustace

I imagine the source could have said something like ‘the club have spoken to Eustace’. What that means specifically isn’t exactly clear. On one hand, it could mean Eustace came in for an interview. On the other, it could mean the club have spoken to his representatives through informal channels...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

There isn’t really anything redeemable about this government. Only the public sector workers will be happy so far. Even so, those pay rises won’t go far if inflation creeps back up and farmer’s strikes cause increases in food prices and/or shortages. They were elected without any real guiding...

    Josh Eccles

100% - as well as Sheaf and Eccles have been playing over the last 12 months, they haven’t filled that Hamer shaped void in our midfield. Eccles deserves a lot of credit because his last two assists (Thomas v Boro and Bassette on Saturday) were fantastic crosses. He really thrives in that...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It was repealed on 2022 which is why we had a guessing game of when Sunak would call an election. Apart from the Government being unpopular, there isn’t really a case for an election. I could definitely see Labour calling an early election for a renewed mandate after 2-3 years because we’ve...

    Steve Cooper?

Exactly my line of thinking. At this point, I'd rather just go out and get Lampard and if he does shit, a bunch of other Prem/Champ managers will be available to take stock then. If Cooper didn't want the job and Lampard felt jilted, then who do we go for!? The 'anyone but Lampard' brigade...

    The Club Shop

They did it with the England 1990 remake which sold very well. The hoodie looks nice but I'm not so hot on the blackout 87/88 kit remake though. I'm eying the Umbro remakes and Pony home remake for Xmas, the blackout range isn't on the Xmas list just yet.

    Steve Cooper?

At this point, unless Cooper absolutely wants the job, there isn't much good in approaching him. Assuming we are in 'advanced talks' with Lampard, if we mess him about to talk to a manager who may not want the job and end up getting neither, we'll look like right idiots.

Match Thread Burnley FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 26th November 19.45 ko

I don’t want to tempt fate, but Burnley have really struggled for goals this season, especially at home. They are there for the taking if we can get a goal. Pragmatically, I reckon it’ll be 1-1 draw.

    New manager

Yes because I don’t think Lampard will be on more money than our highest earner. Lampard was on about £1.75m at Derby whose wages were higher than ours back then. To reiterate, Lampard’s stock is low. He’s probably not going to get Prem wages from Day 1.

    New manager

Only one way to find out. Robins always seemed to do well with us and struggle elsewhere. It will all depend on who he brings in as his next number 2. There’s certainly risks on our end, the relationship with Robins was always a ‘match made in heaven’, right person and the right club.

    Frank Lampard Rumours

He’s another manager who’s probably exposed at Premiership level. His Championship record is what I’m interested in!

    Frank Lampard Rumours

Absolutely if it gives us a chance of hiring Cooper. Wish they’d done it 2-3 weeks ago!
  14. Mucca Mad Boys

    New manager

They definitely won’t pick him up. I love Robins but can definitely see him struggling at other Championship clubs.
  15. Mucca Mad Boys

    New manager

So what? It was his first season in a packed league. Swansea were in receipt of parachute payments when Cooper was there and were paying Ayew something stupid like £80k per week. He left before the going got tough. At Forest, his work was impressive but Forest had an expensive team and Prem...

    New manager

This may be a controversial take but imo, Cooper is a manager that would’ve been sacking Robins for given his track record getting 2 teams in the playoffs and one promotion. However, Cooper has just been sacked and highly doubt he is interested in the job so soon. Additionally, we’re...

    Frank Lampard Rumours

There’s Potter and Moyes available too if they want another crack at the Prem. Leicester’s team isn’t good enough to stay up irrespective of who their manager is imo.

    Chris Wilder

... and one of their players throwing an elbow as the melee happened. But, of course Wilder's players would do that. Why would we let the truth get in the way of a good story?!

    Frank Lampard Rumours

Have you considered the possibility that RVN wasn’t seriously interested in taking the job? There are lower end Prem jobs about to become available, such as Leicester who’ve just sacked Cooper.

    Steve Cooper?

It’s irrelevant because he never managed them in the Prem, but I was convinced Maresca wouldn’t have done a much better job.
