Match Thread Coventry City - Hull City Match Thread - Saturday 14th Dec

He was saying about changing the routine and getting them in the mindset earlier. I’d imagine for a 12:30 ko you’re looking at a fairly early start even if players are coming in so may as well have everyone together and get cracking straight away and ensure everyone gets a good nights sleep.

    Transfer Rumour January transfer window

Hamer did so much like Vik you almost need two or three players to replace him. If Rudoni could start driving through the middle a bit and Torp could start pinging a few quick passes and chipping in with long range goals we might get there I guess. I just miss Gus so much. No one who gets me...

Wonder if this is cos of the early kickoff so we can control the morning.

We would have been better off with Robins

There’s a fair argument that Robins might not have been able to continue with or without Adi. But I can’t get past the idea that if that’s your hypothesis you give him more than 14 games to find out.

We would have been better off with Robins

Youd have had a job sacking him during the playoff run 🤣 Robins is an unusual manager being here for six years when King arrived. He was basically unsackable. Just saying it’s rare an owner comes in and gets on with the people there. New toy, they want their people, just personality clashes...

    The good old days.....

I dont care if we’re being occupied by Nazi Germany keep it off the football side. I can be as guilty as anyone but it always shits things up. There’s a place for it.

Seem to have a real problem getting people into the trades for some reason cos everyone I know says you should get a trade. Some minor hope for automation or factory build but I think just making building more predictable will help a lot. Not as much as rejoining the single market for people...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

GDP is shit. But it’s shit for reasons that are structural and have been the case for 30-50 years. The main growth driver Labour plan on is planning reform. Which they haven’t done yet. Getting excited or distraught over basically rounding errors around the 0% growth we’ve had since 2008 is a...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

They’re too secret. I did it once. Made a van hire company on Foleshill Road built a planter they’ve never once used in a decade of being there. Felt great. Walked past: there’s my impact on the world. Fucking pointless. They don’t want it so never put plants in it. I was just some bored...

We would have been better off with Robins

Like the family zone decisions and the ticket price decisions? I think he wants people to like him and he said he was surprised by the negative reactions to the decision didn’t he?

We would have been better off with Robins

I think it was as soon as King took over. How common is it for owners to change and the manager not?

We would have been better off with Robins

Crowd at Derby was pretty grumpy IIRC, I do wonder if he turned up and misread the temperature.

There’s more trees! I believe in green middles, street trees, parks, gardens, etc. I’m not convinced of the ecological benefit of a farmers field or quarry or whatever over that particularly. I’d much rather we insisted on building developments with green space built in that people can actually...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It is and a lot of it is doing what you just did with trees when your real problem was you don’t like a decision your democratically elected officials made. Planning isn’t a backup ballot box. And just not liking something shouldn’t allow you to hold it up for years and quadruple the cost.

We would have been better off with Robins

Not to start all this again but that’s your opinion. We’d lost one after a reasonable run of six games 14 matches into a brand new setup and management team.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

We need to build a lot more than houses. I don’t believe we should preserve the country in aspic for no reason no matter how much nostalgia it offends, no. The fact shit like the train station and the lower precinct cafe are listed is a joke tbh. We are far too over protective of the status quo...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Do “unused” roads and “unused” pavements piss you off too? We’re building a network. Or we would be if people like you didn’t bitch and moan at every step. If you don’t want to use it, don’t. But other people will. Just like all the other “unused” cycle lanes because they’re not unused they’re...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Oh I get it. “I’ll only let you build if it’s houses (though really not that either lol)” Nah fuck off, we’ve had 50 years of that. You don’t get to hold everyone else hostage any more.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I don’t think anyone claimed it would happen immediately. Economies are oil tankers they don’t turn on a dime. The first 6-12 months are basically the previous lots hangover.
