Wasps bid for Ricoh Arena valued at £30million

Wasn't it suggested at one point that the option to buy the Higgs share didn't technically disappear until the old co is liquidated which I don't think has happened yet has it? Suspect it is something that would end up in another court case which I'm sure CCC are keen to avoid.

Wasps bid for Ricoh Arena valued at £30million

On the bright side this gives SISU all the information they need to get their own offer on the table tomorrow!

SCG/ Garlick Stadium group to merge?

Wasn't there a bust up between the trust and non trust members on the SCG. Seem to recall something like that in the minutes of one of the meetings.

Council could vote on Ricoh takeover as early as Tuesday

There may have been a restricted use covenant, that's not uncommon for football grounds. Something along the lines of the land can only be used for football. That would have needed to be removed prior to any sale as the land would be practically worthless with it in place however I would think...

Council could vote on Ricoh takeover as early as Tuesday

They have always said they will consider any serious offer, never have I heard it said that excludes CCFC or for that matter SISU. They don't need to put a valuation on it for SISU to bid. The simple fact is despite all their bluster SISU have never tabled an offer to buy either the freehold or...

Council could vote on Ricoh takeover as early as Tuesday

What would happen if any sale involved paying off the loan? The court case could still proceed but as most people seem to think the most severe punishment would be loan repayment wouldn't it then be pretty pointless.

Council could vote on Ricoh takeover as early as Tuesday

So your main objective is to get SISU to leave. But you then say but and To sum up you want SISU to go, say if SISU owned the ground and the club they would sell both but they should pay as high a price as possible and under no circumstances should they be sold the ground. That all seems...

Council could vote on Ricoh takeover as early as Tuesday

And there is the key problem, SISU are still claiming we will be in a new stadium in 2-4 years and the current contract at the Ricoh reflects that. What happens when we get to the end of the 4 years and there is no new ground? The club may have had a bad deal historically with ACL but who knows...

Council could vote on Ricoh takeover as early as Tuesday

Not an obsession but I would say that, if we assume the Ricoh is performing to a decent level even without considering us playing here, that a) you would attract more buyers for a club and stadium package and b) I would hope / expect we would get a better deal buying from the council than buying...

Council could vote on Ricoh takeover as early as Tuesday

Even if you make a leap and assume that's all correct doesn't it create a long term problem in that it will be difficult for any new owner of the club to purchase the stadium.

Coventry story on radio in Brighton

I suspect if TLO gives Coventry another mention on his show it might not be very complimentary after this thread!

Council could vote on Ricoh takeover as early as Tuesday

Isn't this what the council have always said they would do? Consider any genuine offers for the stadium, sure they've stated that on more than one occasion. A vote doesn't mean it is going to happen, I would have thought that was a standard process to follow. An offer is made and a vote on that...

SCG/ Garlick Stadium group to merge?

Surely it should be one of two things? Either the new stadium is happening and Garlicks group keeps doing what they are doing, or it's not happening and should be disbanded. If they want to be on the SCG shouldn't there be some process for new members or can we all just turn up and be part of...

    Forget Rugby

The only option would be a second tier but you'd hit problems when you got the side of the group corporates are on as you have the exhibition hall right behind so can't build backwards. Unless that would support having something built on top of it you're stuffed, you'd probably have issues with...

    Fan ownership will never work

And they were loaned that money by the local council using my council tax! They also wrote off well over £100m in debt. Spot on, it's only debts prior to current ownership and the rumour down here is that those owed money have accepted a smaller pay-out (having already been negotiated down at...

    Preston Match Thread

The worry for me is that for a while numerous posters have questioned two things. 1) the cover we have available if any of the first choice team aren't available and 2) the lack of a plan b Both those things seem to have caught us out today. Now the squad strength might not be the fault of SP...

    So who owns WASPS?

We, as fans, can choose to believe what Fisher says or assume he is bonkers but we're not running a business reliant on his actions. Could be once bitten twice shy for CCC & Higgs. Nobody really thought SISU would be stupid enough to take us to Northampton but they did. If you have you 'main'...
